Title: Foliage animation render settings
Post by: selant on 2016-01-13, 12:06:19
hi friends, what is the best setting to render animation in an outside scene (only foliage) with corona sun.
I dont want to have flickering. Can you please let me know the workflow ? Thank you.

In my opinion, the default setting and PT + PT is enough. Don't use  HD cache for outdoor animation with trees.
About flickering, it depends on the power of your machine and the "cooking time".
Try to render some frames in crop mode, and check how many passes you need to have a good animation, without flickering.

thank you for suggestions, i knew pt + pt is good for outside scenes but couldnt make sure if "animation" changes that idea.so i will give a try with some pass tests.

PT+PT should be the preferred solution.

You could enable UHD Cache and bake it if there are no moving objects or lights in the animation, but it shouldn't give you noticeable speed boost.

is PT+PT the better option for all types of exterior animation then, even if objects and lights are moving? not done any animation yet with corona but may be doing some soon, interior and exterior.
