When importing ".exr" spherical environment panoramas, should i override the import gamma dialog to 1.0 ? If so, what about the spherical environment maps which are not .exr (i mean tiff or jpg, etc..) ?
Thank you.

It depends. If you're working with max 2014 or newer, then you can safely leave it at automatic gamma - max handles it automatically. On older versions, yes, you should override gamma to 1.0 for high dynamic range images.

Dear romullus,
I am working with max 2014 with all the LWF things inside the program are 2.2.
And my .ini configuration is as follows :
[Gamma]
DisplayGamma=2.200000
Enable=1
DisplayCorrectionMode=1
CorrectColorPickerState=1
CorrectMtlEditorState=1
InputGamma=2.200000
OutputGamma=1.000000
LUTFileName=
DisplayCorrectionPrefMode=1

Everything is fine except output gamma. Why do you have it on 1.0? Are you always saving in linear? It's recomended to have both, input and output gammas set to 2.2.

It could be for example due to having an old scene opened in newer Max.
Here is a guide on resetting even the input/output values in newer Max:

Hi, thanks for all helps i dont know why one of my friends told me to override the setting of the output gamma in the config file to "1.0" (which was 2.2 in the original config).
Now i will revert it to the original which is 2.2, and keep importing .exr spherical panoramas as is.
