Post by: mitviz on 2015-11-26, 18:49:28
will something like this be possible? just trying to see if i can find away to estimate when renders will finish, i am rendering 5k images lately and sometimes i cannot afford to spend 4 hours on one image so would be good to know what scene to use corona on and which vray etc. its tough

Estimated time is shown in render window as well as in Corona VFB during rendering.

aha, so this works only if you set a limit

Obviously. How else could program estimate when rendering finishes? :] If there's no limit set, rendering will go on endlessly.

was thinking till the noise clears up, something to that effect

:D
in reality noise never truly clears, it only becomes acceptable or not noticeable per viewer anymore...

Lately am wondering on how would it be possible to emulate film grain using noise. ie: Having a setting for the amount & size of noise/grain as with film (ISO 100, 200, 400...). Would be possible? As such definitions and results are still much more predictable (at least for photographers) than a level abstractions.

well, would be nice to have say presets till it reaches a point where its acceptable, maybe levels of noise etc, not sure but would be useful
