can i do a resume render from any exr?

no, only EXR previously saved with the save feature of save/resume. This saves some extra data about number of samples per pixel in the file.

forgot to say i wanted to know this because i want to leave a render for say and hour per frame and go to bed and using batch render i  would like to save a exr at the end of each new image so if it needs to be renderered more i can the next day, idk if you follow

It is possible to do that. Just enable autosave option, make sure output path is correct and set number of images kept>on render end to equal or higher value than number of images in your render batch. When render finishes, in autosave folder you'll have bunch of files named [your_autosave_file_name]_endxxx.exr. Those are the files you can load into Corona and resume rendering if needed.
