Title: GrowFX and backburner freeze - cannot render
Post by: Cosmo on 2015-11-18, 07:50:00
Hey everyone! I'm experience some problems rendering scenes using growfx though backburner:

Scenes with growFx aren't rendering when submitted to backburner but will render locally
A simple scene with just a Growfx tree from the website, sun/sky system and no materials wont render, however I did manage to get a very small simple tree to render. (From website, Oak2 won't render, Frangipani Tree does)
Ram isn't capping out (32gb available, no more than 5gb used on a full scene). It just freeze as soon as corona starts parsing the scene
Disabling metameshes doesn't work

I'm using corona 1.3, Max 2015 and all render nodes are running the latest node version of grow fx

i have contacted growfx directly over a month ago and had the following response:
We need to check it with a corona rendering, and as soon as we get the result I'll let you know...

Does it work with other renderers? Mental Ray/Vray/Scanline?

If it does, and only freezes with Corona, can you create a minidump during the freeze? Here is how to do it:

Hi there

Discovered a same sort of issue.
I have an animated Grow FX tree, If I render it with BB, it will not render the Grow FX object in the first frame, in the other frames the object will be rendered.

Tried to render it with Mental Ray, but no succes.
"MSG  0.0     27 MB error: The transformation matrix for object "Generic_Tree_001|Instance(Mesh00)" contains infinite values which are invalid. The object will not be rendered."

Edit: using corona 1.3

So it looks like a GrowFX issue?
