The bump map value in A5 has lots more impact as in A4, see attached image

No, it had less impact in A4 than in A5.

But seriously it's probably because of fixed filtering error. In A4 sometimes you had to set bump map's blur to something like 0,1 or 0,2 to work properly. In A5 you don't have to do it. So it's probably blurriness, not value that has changed.

I'll check in A4 and lower the blur to 0.1
In A5 though, if I devide the bump value by 10, I get a much more similar result as in A4; ie, the GI noise pattern is different ofcourse, but other than that, it looks the same(-ish)

but that is a good thing, right...? :D

The problem is that 3dsmax filtering interface is poorly documented, there are no real working examples (the implementation in sample renderer is just horribly wrong, and it is what was included in corona in v3 and earlier). So I changed it often to make it better and more consistent, so if it now works differently than before, it is not a bug, if it works consistently in different scenes in the newest version.

Changing the blur of the map does not make such a big difference, its the value for sure. Checked in A4 and A5
