Hey I bought one of your scenes and it turned out to be models stolen from 3DSKY and Viz-People, models I already had bought or downloaded from their free section. I used your sites contact form to ask for a refund but got no answer. Seeing as how you seem to be active still, it would be nice if you contacted me via PM. Thanks.
EDIT: By the way it's nice to see you are still selling the scene with the stolen assets.
-
Every free scene and even commercial ones on facebook include illegal content. I dont get why these ppl are not able to understand the principles of the use of right...
-
hmmm, touchy one, what if its bought content he has included? i use alot of models i bought in my renderings so idk what is the legal side about selling say a scene with bought models, i think i need to email evermotion and viz people since these days for fast projects i use them more often than not

The legal side of re-selling models you have bought from sites like Evermotion is pretty simple: it's illegal. I'm amazed you even have to ask that. Here's a copy&paste from one of their collection:
"Software and models © 2015 EVERMOTION. EVERMOTION logo is trademark or registered trademark of Evermotion Inc.
in the U.S. and/or other countries. All rights reserved. All *.max, *.obj, *.fbx, *.c4d models included on this colection
with data are an integral part of "archmodels vol.157" and the resale of this data is strictly prohibited. All models can be
used for commercial purposes only by owners who bought this archmodels colection. The sharing of archmodels
colection data is strictly prohibited unless that user has written authorization from EVERMOTION."

Thanks for the info! really good to know that! but there you go, its illegal plain and simple

hi
there is no 3D object from viz or evermotion .. I can guarantee if that were true they came into contact with me.
do not confuse the only thing we do is try to recreate identical models modified and improved is completely different ..
we do not use the forum for sell or mentioned in this post .. we just published to show images made with corona render
one more thing 3d sky is not a good example because it has stolen my models, I can still say that already worked for two companies that were surprised to see almost all the furniture models in 3d sky without authorization. now I wonder and wonder ... who steals Who ??? do you think the POLIFORM or Minotti authorize for exemple ? in my honest opinion the internet is a jungle ...
we just recreate and improve .
-
Also, a big problem is the vague definition of the boundaries used for furniture design.
you can prove anything much that the chair was designed and built by you,
others you will not believe you, because all the sofas, chairs and tables so similar to each other/
For example: In this renders the sofas quite similar to B&B design group////and to be honest, not to anyone not interested in how good
here made the folds of fabric, important--- that the overall design solution and proportions, like B&B....
And what makes a beautiful interior? the beautiful sofa///
And I also doubt that what is located on 3dsky, 3ddd and others 3d's in "free" section is not someone else's intellectual property///so selling models of furniture is like smuggling...
If someone will want to nail strongly ,certainly nail///
-
hmmm its interesting so vkiuru can you prove the models were stolen? i plan to sell some of my own models that i have managed to create over the years that i have not signed NDA for and i wonder how do i deal with an issue like this, how can i tell if someone stole my model or not

Alright.

Go to http://www.polyviz.com/#!shop/c1m1v and click on the PDF-sample of "Polyviz White Loft". See that black Yamaha Receiver on the shelf? Go to http://www.viz-people.com/portfolio/free-3d-models-home-gadgets/ and compare (it's a rolling element with 3 objects, one of them being the original Yamaha model). I have both the polyviz scene and the Viz-People model downloaded and lo and behold, the texture maps are identical both in look and size in kilobytes. Now go ask Viz-People.com if they intended their contribution to the community to be resold.

It is a perfectly legit example as there are lots people there who do their models themselves. You know this and are just trying to get off the hook since you know it's so easy to prove. In the PDF-sample, see that dark grey pouf behind the sofa? compare it to this: http://3dsky.org/3dmodels/show/puf_2_2. The creator of said pouf model, dima110, has many more fabric models that are clearly made by him if you look at the constant style and quality. Should we go ask him if this guy reselling his models is OK because "the internet is a jungle"?
These are 2 examples, I wouldn't be surprised if there were more copyright infringements since this guy seems to lack any ethics.
Now can we please get to the part where you refund me or should I keep digging and notifying the owners of the models you've stolen?
-
wow its getting hot! am wondering though, what if i sell my models and add in my agreement that if someone wants to sell it it has to be apart of a scene larger and that i get a percentage or royalties if they do sell, is there such a thing? i am about to have some of my guys work on uploading and sales so its just now hot on my mind

That is something you need to work out by yourself, or with the help of a lawyer perhaps. But this is definitely not the case with people who upload their models to be bought from sites like Turbosquid or 3DSKY. Scroll to the bottom of any of these sites and read the terms of use.
If you are still not convinced, look at the "Wood Living Room" scene on polyviz site, see the dark chair and compare to this: http://3dsky.org/3dmodels/show/krieslo_718
There's a definite pattern here and if I can track down one single chair in his scene in under 5 minutes, chances are there are more models to be found that are not his. Also, if he is talented enough to match the quality of the examples I've given, why would he choose to steal some of them and model the rest? By which I mean, the aforementioned chances are pretty big.
-
If he would have modeled any of the assets that he is selling in his scenes i wonder if he would sell it for that small price, as it is would be a ridiculous price/working hrs spent ratio.
Sad thing is that 3dsky admins know about this situation and i doubt they take any legal action to sort out the situation.
Here's the bed used in his "Polyviz Br bedroom" scene: http://3dsky.org/3dmodels/show/bond_night_bed_1

Yes the price tag is a pretty clear sign.
One more.. see the Polyviz Br bedroom and see if you notice any similarities with this http://3dsky.org/3dmodels/show/bond_night_bed_1
Even though the Polyviz one has more wrinkles in the geometry, I doubt he took the time and effort to replicate the main foldings of the pillows and blankets using that model as a sole reference.

I also own some of the scenes provided by Polyviz not knowing that they might not completely legit. The quality is outstanding but if it's true that alot of the models are being downloaded elsewhere (and I think it is) I don't think it's proper to sell them as if they were selfmade.
Funny thing is the conditions of purchase given by Polyviz:
You are allowed to use all material you download from Polyviz.com in your personal and/or commercial projects.
However, there are some things you are not allowed to do:
You are NOT allowed to sell or in any way share any of the content to third parties, not even the free stuff..
You are NOT allowed to render the scenes as they are and claim you made the images.
You are NOT allowed to claim any rights or credits for anything that comes from my packages.
It kinda contradicts his way of making a business...

lol, That is pretty funny. This guy has a lot of nerve :D

3dsky is full of illegal, stolen stuff anyway. I would affraid to use any model from that site in serious project.
Not that i'm vindicating Polyviz actions - what they doing is plain illegal.

Dudes ccomon. May be it is enough already?
It is his choice to sell illeagal product. But why we must start this disscusion in every thread? He is not advertising it here any more so what is the problem?

The problem is he ignores requests to give a refund, and as long as he continues down that road I'm happy to remind about his online store being full of other peoples work without their approval in every thread he makes.

maybe when i start selling my models i will say, if you find it anywhere i will not just give you a refund i will double the refund, new policy, hahaha, sorry guys am just messing around
