This question suddenly struck me.
Should we use the converter as the last step in the glossiness chain or before the glossiness falloff map.
Here are some renders to show the difference.

Hmm.. well, the conversion curve clamps values at around .5 so it's not too surprising that it looks like that (still ugly though). The lighter version below doesn't have such low values so it simply looks better.
If it's the same setup that you've used (or would have used) in Vray then the conversion is correct. I'm not entirely sure where this is going since a falloff map is just like any other map.

My understanding seem to be that the most correct result would be applying Output clamping as the final chainlink on top of the whole network in glossy slot, not on individual texture maps.

That was my first thought before the brainfart struck. Thanks for clearing it up guys.
I finally got around to do a quick test to back it up also.

To clear it up for people reading this in the future. Always use the Corona Converter Output map last in the Glossiness chain.
