Title: 1942 - Diorama animation
Post by: ricardobjerke on 2015-10-31, 17:31:36
This was a super cool project to work on!

We developed this animation for the opening credits of the "1942 - O Brasil e sua guerra quase desconhecida" documentary.
We had a great time making this intro, where everything from soldiers to backgrounds have been designed and created by us, based on historically accurate references and presented as dioramas.

Our brazilian friends can watch it on philos.tv channel, but you can all check out the intro on our homepage and let us know what you think!

Rendered in Corona and post produced in After Effects.

I could see where you had fun with this.

How did you make the characters, 3D scans? What type of rig and software?

We used many different machines during the process, with different configurations but the softwares were 3ds max and Zbrush for modelling (no 3D scanning used) and After effects for the post production. ;)

Love it. The video gave me flashbacks to when I used to paint Warhammer 40K models as a kid.
