Hei,
We had a lot of problems during the production of a video we just released called "1942".
We got this super nice result on the tiled floor of the second scene, but once we rendered the animation it started to "flicker". It is not a common sort of flickering issue, but I used the word cause I couldn't think of a better one. You can see on the link below:

Since we didn't have time to pin point the problem, we simplified the displacement, with less detail, and it rendered fine... the sad thing is that it was looking much cooler in the original version.
Any ideas of what could be causing this problem?
Cheers,

Hi,
in what units are you specifying the displacement edge size? Pixel or world?
If the edge size is specified in pixel units it will flicker at this moment as the tessellation changes with the camera position. If it's in world units it shouldn't.
Cheers,
Robin

Hey, any news on this?
How was the displacement made? Was it a bitmap, or procedural? Maybe filtering was changing the details?

The problem was solved when we changed the displacement tesselation method from pixel to world.
Thanks for the top notch support!
