Is it possible to share the renders, or even better, the scene itself? Though not always possible I know due to terms with clients.

Another thought, depending on how complex the scene is, can you import the objects one by one from the problem scene into the very basic scene that is working, see if one of them breaks the result? Not practical if you have hundreds of objects of course, though could try it in groups.

TY! Now that was a contest I hadn't heard of before. Sorry not to see you there on the winners list, but here's to next year!

Would it be possible to show the resulting image? Understood if you can't share due to terms with a client.

Another thought, if you could share a screen grab of the UI showing the camera settings etc, may help in diagnosing what is happening. Last thought, is this in every scene, does it work if you create a brand new empty scene with just a ground plane and a couple of spheres in it for reference?

Might I ask which competition? I like to keep track of those, as there is always the chance of a good Facebook post or blog article about either entrants or winners. :) These are great images, and best of luck in whatever competition it is!

Hi Yagi,

Been some scattered reports of it, one thing I am not sure has been tried for these scenarios is this tip, something that arose that had impact on C4D installations for some people:

"
You can also manually download MSVC++ 2015 (64-bit version!) which is required to run Corona under the following URL:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Sometimes it may be needed to uninstall the old files, and then install them anew:
Uninstalling .NET Framework
Uninstalling Microsoft C++ Redistributable
"

Likely the sort of thing that an up-to-date Windows has not done. Not had to do that myself and everything runs just fine in Max 2016 and 2017 for me.

EDIT: also this tip:

"
To all having problems with 1.4 and material editor:

It may seem strange, but some problems (especially crashes) are related to licensing. I would suggest removing all files from
C:\Users\_username_\AppData\Local\CoronaRenderer
...and then re-activating the license.

Other problems may appear if some other type of materials is set as defaut in meditor (e.g. vray materials).

Here is how to remove the Vray/other settings and set all material editor slots to Corona materials:

1. in 3ds Max go to Customize > Custom UI and Defaults Switcher, then select "Max" on the left list, and "DefaultUI" on the right list. Press "Set" and restart your 3ds Max.

2. To set all material slots to Corona see: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000571040
(see point 2)"

TY for sharing! I did have a chuckle at the tags, where the first two listed are "3dsmax bug" - I suspect those are not uncommon ;)

As a note, this is of course my freelance work from before joining the Corona team - Corona is unrelated in any direct form, other than being my renderer of choice for my work!

Figured it would be interesting to share a recently posted video I created, which is an introductory / marketing video for a laser alignment system. It will come in at about 18 minutes long for all 5 parts, though there are freeze frames and loops in the video editor so not every frame was rendered independently (made no sense to render the same thing over and over though it would make the set up in the video editor easier!)

The look is not a fully photo-real one, still somewhat illustrative. Client is very happy with it, as am I - ah to have had denoising during this one!

Thanks!
   Tom

Did you find a job or find the perfect employee from here on the Corona forums? Are you a freelancer using Corona, at any level?

As you know (or will soon learn!) I am always on the lookout for interesting stories for our blog and Facebook, so if you have a tale to tell I’d be interested to hear from you. Send me over a private message and we can discuss!

Best regards,
   Tom

[Max] I need help! / Re: Exclude object from motion blur
« on: 2016-06-02, 21:53:04 »
This should work on deforming objects, if you disable Multithreaded parsing (with Multithreaded on, and geometry motion blur enabled, Max will freeze - also if you add a Velocity render element too)

https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000516180-known-bugs-and-limitations

"
Using Skin or Skin wrap modifiers may lead to crashes in certain circumstances - for example when using motion blur.
Solution: disable "Multithreaded parsing" in Render Setup > Performance > Development/Experimental stuff
"

Let me know if that gets the motion blur working in your scene!

Interesting approach, and it worked really well I would say. Mosquito bites add a whole new hazard to this kind of work :)
