I see that this amazing rendering engine ..

I am a Vray user, but when I feel like I'm holding a Corona DSLR camera. I love it ..

Maybe a little of my input to the software developer:

1. Dome Light and CoronaHDRI so I recommend ..
2. Physical corona cameras may be added, not cheating vray. but I see the use of corona camera is very helpful to improvise this software.
3. I see this Corona very photographic, may need a little help for setting up DOF .. I was a little hard to do so ..

Maybe it used to be .. I will continue to explore this engine .. Excellent Ondra Karlik ..

I love it.! :)

Just drag HDRI to the environment slot via bitmap loader or as VRay hdri and add planes with corona portal material on the windows.

Its so much easier to rotate the hdri from the dome and to know where is the sun position this way, otherwise you are puting numbers and "guessing" position.

Is something wrong about using HDRI on just a normal sphere with CoronaConstantMtl?

Yes, it is many times slower than environment light.

Also, you can display environment map in viewport and rotate it.

Lastly, Environment lighting with Vray DomeLight is the most ridiculous shitty workflow i have ever seen :D So incredibly many steps needed to get something such essential as environment lighting. In Corona, you just put your map into environment slot. That is all :)

Oh...  and portal lights are not necessary, unless your interior has small windows. If windows are large, then envirolight will not be any slower.

I might do some helper to rotate enviro maps, but there is no need to create any separate light for environment, since Corona does not differentiate environment and environment light.

aaaaargh, don't do that, it will be EXTREMELY slow for some maps
Rendering is magic. How to get minidumps for crashed/frozen 3ds Max | Sorry for short replies, brief responses = more time to develop Corona ;)

Good to know :)

Helper would be nice

Also, you can display environment map in viewport and rotate it.

Can you tell me please how to rotate it?

Simply, by using U offset in bitmap. But not that Autodesk has broken background interaction in 3ds Max 2014 SP3, should be fixed in Max 2014 SP4, and it is working in Max 2014 SP2 and earlier as well as any previous 3ds Max versions.

You are obviously mixing terms up right here.
