Grabbed the C4D release of Corona and remade my, a bit older, model of an iPhone 5S Silver :)

Corona for C4D is already blazing fast, cool and nice to use! Still missing some "quality of life" stuff that Max version has - but I already, simply, love it!!

Here is the render (only 8min for this, so adorable)!

Hope you like it :)

P.S. Lightning is HDR only. No Corona Sky/Sun was involved.

Most of the new C4D Corona users repeat the same mistake. Metals in physically based renderers usually have very dark, or completely black diffuse color. Leaving diffuse color bright when creating metals makes them look plastic and washed out ;)

Glossy one for the edges has black color but the brushed one around the phone has a dark grey one on purpose. Thing is that the materials appear a bit lighter (higher gamma) in the material browser :/

Anyway I'll check it out :) thanks!

Holy s***... If there is different gamma in the VFB than what it shows in mat. editor, then either you do not use LWF, of it is a HUUUUUUUUGE bug!

I am in LWF :/ I have no idea why it shows it the way it is. I have noticed that sometimes when I copy/paste the material - the copied version looks darker but has same properties as the original.

Here is a new render with 0,0,0 color for diffuse in both metal materials. Looks way too dark compared to original real life phone (have it on my desk :D), even though it does indeed (as expected) look way more "metallic" now.

Oh and by the way, is there any way to show the texture in viewport when using a bitmap for diffuse? It would help for uv mapping..

Well, the case may be that the room you are sitting in does not have completely black walls ;)

Yep, and the gray color shows on the beveled edges, but on the sides, you are reflecting black surface it's sitting on.

Non the less, go ahead and report the mat. editor brightness bug. If there is gamma randomly changing, then that's the worst kind of bug ever.

God, sometimes I find myself so dumb :) - Must be from all the Corona for C4D hype!

Added new version with light floor.
