[Max] I need help! / Re: Animation - Displacement Flickering
« on: 2020-02-13, 17:48:06 »
Please find it attached.

The problem is happening on the floor texture.
Even you have some noise happening in the frame, which I don't really care about.

The texture of the floor which has a displacement applied is causing some strange error.
It seems the texture is "moving" through the frames.

Note:
We are running some tests inhouse.
The geometry is a flat surface without subdivision.

We're replacing it with a subdivided mesh.
Let's see if there's anything related to it.

Thks

[Max] I need help! / Animation - Displacement Flickering
« on: 2020-02-13, 15:08:44 »
Hello Guys,

We're facing some problems rendering animation with corona when using displacement.
For some unknown reason, the displacement map is flickering.
Not as a noise pattern but as it was shifting towards the frames.

Does anyone know has any idea of what we are doing wrong?
We try to disable the 2.5D displacement (which it was giving the same error) but nothing has changed.

Video is linked below

Here it's a snapshot from my viewport.

Thanks in advance
Fernando

Really awesome to share opinions with you Juraj :)
As I said before, the work is awesome, the comments were to give you another perspective,
and I'm quite right you understand it :).

I've been seen Bertrand's work, I'm really asking myself if he's a human hehe, just kidding,
that's nice to see such a great names using corona.

Actually, I don't have such a patience, instead of it, I tried to be as hard as I can on details,
maybe this is the reason I take so long to share my works

I'm waiting to see your next job, I'm sure I'll be jealous,(in a good way, of course) :)

Cheers
Fernando

Hi Juraj,

Great images, as always :)
you're really push corona further with your images, ( actually makes me feel, I'm wasting my time not having time to testing it as
further as you are).
Besides the quality that is obvious, I have some perceptions with the image, If you don't mind :)
In my opinion, the shaders, are in some parts shiner than as you it should  look at real, and you could random more textures
to give a non repetitive look in some parts(leather, wood planks).
I feel in some images, the contact shadow is missing, I really don't know the reason, I'm not talking about quality,
but my feeling related to the set.

Anyway, outstanding images, they're the best on the forum so far :)
BIG responsibility mannn, just joking

Cheers
Fernando

Hi Fernando,

actually, much thank you honest critique. I am not oblivious to the lack of quality shaders and repetive textures, very guilty of both :- ) My defense is, I am bit lazy on this front and often not care much. I think I am slightly improving here...and it is all about discipline, which I lack ! But I am getting bit motivated by Bertrand's perfectionism (which is almost alien like) so I think for next projects I will put bit more care into this.

When it comes to shaders, I always look at your work and wonder..how you find the patience !

Also, thank you for compliments, it goes without saying your word has "weight" :- )  Cheers and look forward what you will shock us next with.

hey, Betrand,
Very nice to see you here.
You're tests are as great as you're as an artist, congrat.

I share the same thoughts of you related to the simplicity of corona,
the best result you can achieve with the defaults settings is outstanding.
Personally, this is on of the best advantage  to switch to corona, I can care much more time
improving the image by my own ( composition, material, texture, lighting), instead of playing around with magical settings.

As you said, I agree with you there's a missing on the road, that we have at Vray,
that makes me wait a little more to completely switch to corona, I really like the efforts the guys are making
to implement this stuffs, hope sooner to have access to it :)

Anyway, great images as always, they're impeccable.
Cheers
Fernando

Welcome aboard Peter!

pretty interesting tests, the lighting is amazing, thanks corona for make this
so easy, with a good understanding of lighting/camera/photography we can reach
very good results.
As I always say, at the end of the day what really matter is the image.

Hope see new stuffs from you my friend,
Cheers

Juraj_Talcik: Thanks for the advice, Ileave the MSI as the default, I'll run some tests with your advice, thanks man.

Polymax: thnks man :)

Michaltimko: Thanks man, Yeah, I really didn't have time to work on a exterior shoot, but I'll probably do it,
I'd love to see the light behaviour in a exterior situation, When i have something (cool) I'll post on the forum.

Nehale: I Agree to :)

Thanks guys for the support, I'll be glad to improve with you our work done with corona.

Yagi: Not so much, technical at this side, I just used pt+hd ( i don't know if this is the best method),but
related to pt+pt, I thought it gave me a better noise result. OPEN for tips to improve.

Juraj_Talcik: I feel the same related to your work :)
Yes. Thinking about, there were good chances of the max crash during zoom in/out.
Another crash to me was during high resol. render, when I changed, for ex, 800px to 3000px
it crashed sometimes too, I thought was something related to memory cache, but not really sure about it.
Distribuited Rendering I'll be waiting for you :)

Kumodot: I appreciate this

Rewalanche: I really appreciate your support.
My problem still wasn't for technical sides, but related to make corona works on my render farm,
I'm probably doing something wrong., but I couldn't make it work on my render farm.
I already have a small farm working with the vray, and I assume (logical way) that installing the plugin in my workstation and my node was enough to corona understand my net rendering, but for some reason it crash when it start on my nodes, any idea, tip,of what could have been happen?

i'll love to improve with the community more about corona, maybe a beta license will be awesome too, just thinking :)

Cheers

Hey guys!!!
I'm Fernando, from blackhaus ;)

I've been amazed by the quality of the corona-render, and this is my first tests on the plugin,
It was produced in my spare time two months ago, because work projects I couldn't have test more,
but I'm really excited to completely change my workflow ( vray to corona ), personally and at the studio.

I'll definitely move on to corona when the software appears more stable,  I had some troubles on the way
(maybe because I'm still very noob at the program), Some way the max just shutdown running previews test, and I still didn't figure out
what could happen, other thing I couldn't make it work on render farm, and at the moment( I was playing with corona)
it didn't support distributed render, and this to me is the big barrier to not move on today, I think I should read more about it,
how does it work, and how i could handle animations.

The highlights for me are, forget about settings and tricks to make work or at least the tricks were reduced to a number very low :)
but to me the image that matters at end of the day, and to work with the freedom of just care about the image is astonishing.
I'll not talk about light, because is just amazing, I can reach the light I reached at vray in a very short steps.
I'm excited to play around with more tests, below you can have some images produced completely on corona.

Thnks guys for the support :)
Cheers
