Hey guys, is corona able to render .vdb files loaded with c4d´s Volumeloader object ? Which material to use ?
-
No, it's not able to render them sorry - it will need the CoronaVolumeGrid, which will be Corona's own loader for OpenVDB, you can check the tentative roadmap for plans on when that will be included: https://trello.com/b/dgI8vjDb/corona-tentative-road-map-cinema-4d

+1 on the need to support OpenVDB rendering in Cinema 4D please!!
-
ok, thanks guys for your help !

It's sadly been taking off the V6 roadmap into pool of ideas, even though it's a very prominent and "standardish* feature

Hi, try loading it into a Volume Mesher ;)

Thanks for the neat workaround! Any downsides to it perhaps?
edit: fixed the amazing spelling in the og sentence.

Hi Nejc, you're welcome! Downsides I've noticed would be trying to recall all the fine details in the object. So decreasing the voxel can make your scene slow/halt whilst it's computing. To be honest, I haven't done a lot of testing so far so I'm sure there's either more downsides or even better workarounds to come. :)

Oh cool that works quite fine ! Thx man !

Cool. Makes me wanna render clouds inside living rooms. Not such a new idea ? :)))))))))))
