[C4D] Feature Requests / Sun & Sky Color tint
« on: 2021-09-25, 11:13:42 »
To get extra control over environment which quite often happens in nature...
 alike:

deep blue sky (source)

blood red sky (source)

Should be looking same... or what?

As posted here...

- Deleting then Replacing Camera Tag with an existent one from another Camera object restores old settings (old settings are kept in memory).
- Replacing by creating a New Camera Tag works fine.

You can observe issue in render attached.
And while at it, adding a feature for its (custom shape image) rotation would be great. Or, if possible, just let the rotation from "Blades" control it.

Sounds simple IK, but thanks for your hard work ;)

As noted, Corona's physical camera shutter speed is limited from 0.01/1s to 1/1000s (100s to 0.001s).
Which can't conform to C4D Physical Camera properties or even real camera standard options.
Often times 1/1000s doesn't suffice, especially if user wants to conform to real world values - ie. when photographing on a bright sunny day stuff like the snow or waves breaking on a beach, clouds, shooting specular elements, volumes, sunset/sunrise...?

User needs to bypass the limits by breaking "real-world-like" workflow setting extra small aperture which destroys DOF which then takes it to fiddle with sensor size, which takes precious time and finally bites on an artist's soul :p

Pretty please... :)

-----------------
Edit:
But also... Damn I'm slow sometimes!
User would rather want to be aware and simply adjust, click-click, set preferred Exposure (EV) value.
Joy phase on!

On my Gmail account it appears that mails from coronadashrendererdotcom are getting quarantined by Google's AIgents for ~6 hours treating it as a possible spam-scam.
And I'm not alone.Delay in receiving emails (@ Gmail Help Community)... it all started in November.

Anyone else with same experience?

Corona Standalone / [possible bug] Corona SA v3 PPM
« on: 2019-03-27, 22:18:57 »
Trying to get nice glass render with latest free Corona v3 SA and am seeking confirmation for following crash:

Corona v3.0 SA (2019-02-22)
Renderer: PPM
Primary Solver: Path Tracing
Secondary Solver: Path Tracing

*Notes:
- It's working with Corona v1.6 (2017-01-17)
- Didn't test with Max & C4D SA versions
- VCM works, but doesn't seem to support absorption color (?)

Code: [Select]

So, is it a bug or else?
Would also help, if anyone can confirm it's working or broken with licensed SA version?

TIA

From... How to render using Corona Standalone? (@ Corona Renderer Helpdesk for 3ds Max plugin)
Quote
easiest way is to create a simple scene in 3ds Max, go to development/experimental stuff rollout, and press the "Export+Render" button

Is there a way with C4D? Any alternative or is something planed?
ie.String option does absolutely nothing.
Code: [Select]
string system.sceneExportPath = "C:/scene.scn"

General CG Discussion / Thea Render dropping 3DS Max support
« on: 2017-03-31, 00:53:20 »
Just a note...

Altair, owner of Solid Iris, producers of Thea Render engine, is dropping the 3DS Max support which was in the hands of MotivaCG (developers of Colimo).

Quote from Victor @ source:
Quote
Probably we should remove that landing page at our homepage (Motiva) but currently we are pretty busy on lots of different projects (Anima crowd system, we are third party contractor of Epic Games, our own 3d projects...).

There are some things that probably most of people don't now:

- Solidiris sent us a note informing us that they have decided to drop 3dsmax support due the low amount of sales.

- We didn't know nothing about changes on licensing, but probably taking in account current status we won't update the product.

- Maybe (I really don't know) Solidiris will create a new plugin at their own.

- I suppose that some of you are sad, others could be angry etc, just my apologizes, to be honest I'm most near the users at some points that from Solidiris.

Regards, Víctor

Tho busy, yet an opportunity occurs?
...
CIE & Colimo together ;)

Am doing a revision on an exemplary test scene provided by chocofur.com to be concurrent with latest releases (Blender, Corona SA) but have stumbled upon a deal breaker. Doesn't render, tho with Material Override it does.

[C4D] Resolved Feature Requests / Hair?
« on: 2016-05-06, 17:07:53 »
Hair is not supported, yet? (geo only)

So my questions are:
1. Is 'hair' planned to be rendered sometime in the future?
2. If so, do you know if you will integrate something like Marschner shader or make your own solution?

Basically, what are your plans for "Hair" since i haven't seen any mentioning on the road map (or ever)?

I believe Max users will be happy also ;)
Some inspiration of what kind of craziness is possible with Unusual ways of using Hair by Chris Schmidt...

For those having problems with C4D procedural noise shaders, made a staged test scene.

5 Variations / cameras:
1 - displace + diffuse
2 - displace
3 - diffuse
4 - bump
5 - bump + diffuse

proc4DnoiseTest_a41.7z attached

Correct if any mistakes found. Develop further. Hunt for bugs.
Those who have reported crashes i suspect GPUs.
Note: Wait for material preview to render. Do not disturb it, it might crash - experienced with older cards.
No problems here whatsoever. Not yet crashed.

Porting and API / Missing file msvcr120.dll - resolved
« on: 2013-12-18, 21:56:37 »
I don't know if this is OK to post here? I had a problem and this is how it was resolved... also there's a bug in Windows 8+ openGL that is good to know.

Note:
If you are using Win 8+ and get such a message be sure to install included 'vcredist_x64.exe' as latest build (or any other?) from MS site won't work.

This was my 1st problem with Corona. I was also testing Mitsuba renderer and had it also with latest builds of 'vcredist' installed on Win8 x64.
Then I saw on the blog that there's a bug in Win8+ OpenGL. So I hope you haven't run up to it, cuz' it hadn't been resolved yet (more than 9 months).
I hope that this helps someone not to turn away from Corona Standalone.

You can read about it here: http://www.mitsuba-renderer.org/devblog/2013/12/opengl-broken-on-windows-8-and-8-1-64-bit-2/

ps
Win8+ only
Corona Standalone works (w/ Blender Exporter)
Mitsuba x64 crashes

Have a lovely & fun days.
Uh, and thank you all for this nice tool.
