[C4D] I need help! / corona makes chaotic render URGENT HELP
« on: 2020-11-24, 15:30:08 »
hello world
im facing a big big problem. when i hit render corona renders this really messy ugly (geo) frame. what ive found out so far. it does it at every frame. i started deleting stuff and it might be from the dynamics. in standard renderer everythings fine. also when rendering an animatic everythings fine without any changes to the scene. so it must be corona that causes the issue.

I NEED HELP ASAP

thanks : )

i was wondering if anyone still has this problem. we also have problems rendering jobs and jobs getting stuck at the last frame and wont continue. very very frustrating because you leave the renderfarm running over the weekend, only to find out it rendered 10% of your jobs. not very eco friendly either.
is that on coronas side or is that a c4d issue?
we use macs and windows pcs. most of the time it works and the solution is to stop and start the render again.

i prefer this method over docking it inside the UI. takes up space and most artists have a second screen to look dev inside the window (VFB).

is it supported now? its been a while since he posted the question.

is there a way to get the free old version? the link on the website isnt working anymore. i use corona at work an would love to render my personal stuff ona older version for free. thanks in advance

? well ? im also having trouble. this is just really confusing to set up. why do i need to set "render only masks (disable shading)" on? cant i just enable the effin multipass, select render elements and im good to go? really really confusing. i kinda managed to get it but i dont know what i did and i want to understand what im doing. cant work like that. i hope they make it easier to hable all render elements.

in production i, one time, have selected the zdepth renderpass and i just got a black image. not nice after hours of rendering to get back to something like that. in vray it works. i select the freaking elements and it goes...its easy, its straight forward.

[C4D] I need help! / Re: refraction noise / optimization (?)
« on: 2019-04-23, 13:18:55 »
thanks guys, really appreciate all the tips and experiences you have. yes at this point GPU is not an option since the project is now ongoing and in full swing.
yeah in the end refractions are just a bitch to render xD i hope they can do something about that in the next release. one of my main problems with corona compared to vray  is, that i dont know how to tackle noise properly. they tell us to leave the performance tab at default but when renders look like that, basically unusable you have to tweak something. and thats where my problems start. there is no in depth video explaining the ins and outs of what to do when X happens.

Be the way which render preview you are using.... ?
Many icons and functions, Corona IR shows only passes status.

...

thats after effects. inside the square is a denoiser at work from AFX. but that should not be the isue. corona frame buffer or picture viewer in c4d, the quality is the same. the diamond is very very noisy. i tried it in vray the other day. after 20 min it was almost noise free. compared to corona after 2 hours thats really something :/
do you have any idea what settings i could tweak?

hello world

im sure thousands of questions are asked about noise reduction. im rendering a scene with a gem stone (ruby). naturally cuastics and dispersion are on but when i do have them on, rendertimes are impossible for production. so i turned them off and managed without. but at UHD (2160x3840) the rendertimes are still a bit too high. now, maybe corona is like that and rendering refraction is in general a bitch or there is some optimization to make. i would hope that i can tweak something in the performance tab. unfortunately i cant share the scene file but i have 2 meshes in the scene. one is the ruby one is a frame that holds it. i used the sky object with a corona light material as a hdr to light the scene.
the render you see took about 1h 30-40min with 25-30 samples. i know that distance should dramatically influence the rendertime. i need it to be that close though. so rendetimes so far take around 2 hours.

Do you have an idea how could I manage this?
hmm you could model that red patch and treat is a s a single mesh and attach that material. have you tried selection tags? i dont see any. have you used the opacity slot? hard to judge with no scene file.

ps: why do i always have to vefiry myself before writing a post -.- mmmmmmh this is silly

« on: 2019-04-19, 11:08:06 »
i would think that this is the nature of corona. it refines the picture with each sample pass. do you shine light through a glass window? i once had a problem where i turned on cuastics and i had black dots all over the floor where light shined through. use the frame buffer and do a region render. if it cleans up after a good while and you still see those, there is probably something funky in your scene that does it (material/lights). try isolate/delete objects in your scene and re paste them step by step. render only the bare minimum and gradually put in the stuff you need and give it a render everytime. focus on one area witha  region render to speed up the process dramatically.
i do that whenever i have no idea whats wrong. this way you know relatively fast whats wrong.

[C4D] I need help! / Re: How to create distance haze
« on: 2019-04-19, 11:00:20 »
I'm interested to this topic. Teorically you should use a corona volume to simulate fog or the haze you want.

i would second that. fog is universal in your scene if you want fog you need to put it everywhere. you need to adjust the volume material to get the desired look i guess. if you need fog in the distance only, maybe try faking it in post? render out IDs to isolate the ship, bakc and foreground.
