Hello
I have this material from the Corona library. Mapped it to a ball. Looks great. Popped it onto a wall and it looks rubbish! Any ideas of what's going wrong here?

Hi there, can you share this test scene with us? Seems to be working just fine here.

Hi,

It seems that the scale of the project is very large. By default, the figure added to a scene is 180cm. When adding one to your scene, it is 18cm. I feel this is the cause. If I move the camera to the cube, it renders as expected (to scale).

Well it would seem something is off about the scene. The wall is 8m wide. There seems to be some kind of discrepancy there. Do you know where this will occur? When I bring in the person from the cosmos browser he comes in at the right scale. However, I've just opened an illustrator line logo and the depth of it says 20mm on the dialogue box its' much much deeper.

Weird thing is, that man comes in at the right scale, so what I did was change the scale of the bricks to the correct size (200mm x 100mm per brick) and this happens.

Any idea how I can tie all this up? Thanks in advance
Attachment is the size dialogue box of the wall.

So, I don't think it's to do with the scene itself.
Have a look below. When I render it close it's absolutely fine. When I'm zoomed out all of the detail is gone.
What's happening there then?

It looks like you have very aggressive texture filtering in your scene. I can't tell you where to look for this setting, since i'm 3ds Max user, but maybe it will be clue for someone who knows better.

Yes I've been using that and I'd understand if it was some kind of 'preview' level but it doesn't render in the 'final' renders any better!

Hi there, can you try lowering the blur scale to -100% and let us know the outcome?

If this solution is no good, can you check to see if ''out of core textures'' is enabled in the performance settings and disable it?

Hi there, I have checked this scene again and copied the wall to a new scene. The top image is yours, the bottom is my new one. I also deleted the render settings and started fresh.

The issue here is most likely related to the scene project scale being way too large. If you can import this figure to your scene to check if it is in scale, that would be great. If it is not, please use the project scale settings to adjust your scene scale.

Hi. I still have this problem. On the previous job I just swapped the bricks out for a standard mapping of some bricks.
However, I'm on another job now and it's happening again with a different material.

See attachments.
My project is scaled to 1cm as you've stated before. However, when I go a little bit away from the texture it loses all detail. You can even see it in the first attachment. As it goes further away from the camera, the detail just smoothes out.

I don't think this is a project scale thing. The measurements are very specific on this one and I've even had imported 'official' models within this project which confirms everything is okay scale-wise on it.

Help please! :)
