Hi guys,
I think some of you already know our shaders made for other engines, I'm beginning to build a new collection of shaders dedicated to Corona Render, all build using the nodal system.
I already have some ideas on what shaders people need the most but I also want to hear from you if there are some specific materials you are interested in.
I'll update this thread with some images from the WIP, let me know how I can improve my work ;)

I'm building a new setup for studying material behavior in real world from physical samples, in the mean while I've been playing with some fabric shaders using displacement or a combination of bump and normal, plus some surface imperfections using hair system.
Hope you like it;)

sirio76,

Thats pretty cool :) I don't have any requests personally but I just wondered whether you could perhaps share how you created those loose strands? I'm currently using a scattering solution but without multi-instance support in Corona its a bit of a pain when it comes to preparation times and obviously the crazy wicked viewport speeds.

Great news Stefano!

I already converted the most from what I daily use... ;)

I will let You know when one idea of new materials comes to me.

Thank you Franz, for any material related question let me know and I'll try to help as soon as possible, it will be very useful for me since I'm learning the software while building my collection;)

Hi nkilar,
all the strands are made using C4d native hair system with some basic tweaks on kink and frizz parameters, I've also used a little SSS to give the fur proper light scattering. Since I've only Prime version I've created the fur inside an old Cinema Studio release and converted the results in real polygons, while this will work on small/medium project for large scene a good scatter system will be essential(I'm waiting for an updated Surface Spread release for this), even better if Corona will provide a native scatter tool like they have already build for the Max version or tools like Geopattern/Vray pattern for tileable geometry.

Alright, thats awesome, thanks for sharing. I prefer to avoid hair myself because I just can't get used to the C4D hair system. Yet :)

I was under the impression we already got the newest surface spread? Guess not :) In any case, I think that multi-instances offer a ton of new possibilities and I'm really excited to have that in Corona. We are kind of the last kid on the block not supporting it I think but as always... Patience! :)

Personally, I would pay good money for perfect materials for all my automotive renders. I can get close, but I'd rather worry about the composition, animation and lighting.

Car paints, chrome, glass, tire rubber, interior materials, etc.

Thanks a lot for your input! if you have reference image of what you are looking for it will be even better;)

Hi Marvey,
it can be done for sure, here is a test porting to Corona one of my old Vray shader(color can be tuned easily), if you need it let me know and I can send it for free;)
This was just a quick attempt, for the Corona collection I will try to build shader like this from photogrammetry though, results will be much better.

My first ideas for new shaders from 3DR&B:

acrylic stuff like this:
http://acrylic-couture.com/home/

http://acrylic-couture.com/home/portfolio-item/vento/

or surfaces like this:
http://www.3-form.de

Hi Franz,
looks like some of those materials includes real geometric details and for a quality result you will need to do the same in 3d, acrilic shader will be easy to build though.

I've seen here on the forum your car paint xpresso setup, the concept is very nice, thanks for sharing!
Flakes doesn't work well for closeup but I've some ideas on how to improve it;)
I'll post some test as soon as possible and I hope to get some feedback from you.

Yeah. You can build some "template" and we scatter the objects inside, like acrylic-couture does with custom objects. :)

Hi Sirio, exactly the exemple you gave, but now should be nice to have diferente colors… in my country we have alot of modern architecture and we use alot these kind of stone, hope you can make some variations in your new pack ;)

Finally I've managed to get some time to work on my shaders:)
I've already prepared many fabrics and there will be a lot more for the first bundle.
Here are a few tests, please fell free to give your honest opinion so that I can improve the shaders;)

I'm building several displacement map to get the most out of your fabric. Here is an example, same shader with displacement off/on, and it's using triplanar mapping so there's no need for proper UV:

Hi Sirio, very nice work! btw dont Forget about the shaders request by users… ;)

Thanks, this first bundle for fabric is almost ready(about 500 high quality shaders), the beta testers are checking everything is fine and we plan to release the product in a few days.
I'm already working on other bundle;)
