Hi All,

Just wondering about corona proxies and max loading times. If i have a blank scene, with some heavy cgeo proxies that have no materials, shouldnt the time it takes to load the max scene be very quick? I though the geo was only loaded at render time, and thats the whole point of proxies?

all proxies are on box mode btw and set not to keep in memory.

thanks, Peter

Hi Peter,

From v7 the proxies should be loaded in the background and should not block 3ds Max.

I have a few questions, which versions of 3ds Max and Corona are you using?

Are you loading these proxies from a local ssd, hard drive or network drive?

Lastly, would you be able to provide the scene and assets in question, I would like to investigate further.

Thanks,

Rowan

A while ago i send a problematic scene to corona devs, what i found was that Proxies are loaded EVEN if they are on a hidden layer.
So for a very big project were i have a couple of totally furnished apartments ram consumption was like 80gb with just one apartment layer on, and the corona team told me it was correct behavior..
