Work in Progress/Tests / Playing with a light
« on: 2013-09-27, 16:51:38 »
Hi, I'm playing with a lamp model, with real spiral filament, just to spend some time with Corona.
These are the render and a strong (but I like it ;) post.
I'm going to go on with this game, I'll try to have the best result I can with this easy simple model.
Write soon again, ciao!

Sorry, today is a strange day for me, so to have a break I decided to work a little on your image, without any other mean than have some relax for me.
I've done a little post, this is the result, I agree about color temperature. Matching your image and the picture you can also see a big difference in columns size, yours are larger, so seems to be taller than in the picture, and this make all the place smaller than it is. I think that a little mask with AO could help this image to became better again, and have a look at gold colour of the palms, in the picture it a lot more soft than your. The floor bump is exagerate, too large, this also make the place to seem smaller.
Again, I really don't want to teach anything to anyone, this is only for me, to learn,  I just like to share with you! Fell free to tell me to do something else in my relax time ;)

Best regards,
Alessandro

Linked photo seems to be render, bad one.

+1, render or hdri picture...

The linked photo seems to be an hdri photo, I don't like this kind of photo, I find it absolutely unnatural. But, the camera is much more near to the floor than in the render, try this perpective to improve the view quality!

Edit: I'm reading right now your answer. Well, it shoud be pretty to see your reference photo to have a match ;) About light contrast, I mean it seem to have too much light everywhere, like the hdri photo linked by xt13r, my opinion is that there must be more shadowed areas, and darkness shadow, it is not possible (of course not natural) to have the same light everywhere. An example, so far from this scene, if I take a picture inside a room with a window with a splendid sun outside, or you take the exposure inside the room (and you will have about white on the window) or you take the exposure into the window (and you will have a very dark room). All the rest is unnatural, artificial and should be good for a forniture catalog, but I find it not good for an exterior picture. As I've said, it's just my humble opinion, of course! ;)

Not bad, but the first one has got no deep, no 3d contrast, most of all all around the library.
But I like so much the detail one! ;)

Nothing to say, 5 minutes to have a good image without a tesla ;) That's it!

Nice, but it has some problem, it seems to be a little model of the build, maybe try to change the perspective, and work on more light contrast all around.

Sorry, this morning I've got a very bad and boring critical sense...!!! :| Hope you find this comments useful and not unfriendly!
All the best!

I'm a long time MR user, but I'm using Corona for production since I discover it.
Actually, IMHO the MR version of your 500 is better than the corona one, I prefer MR materials results in this case. I think you have to work a little more on corona shader, than you will obtain a perfect result! And, to have a correct match, you should use exactly the same camera view and lighting, the MR one seems to be a lot worm than the Corona one. Don't misunderstand me, I like all the two version, this is just my opinion ;)

Btw, Corona has got some features that make me prefer it more than MR or Iray or Vray, using a cap of words I can say fantastic render time with no 10.000 € ws and no Tesla, with realistic lighting and realistic mood of the render, with a lot of light point and a lot of poly, that is impossible to have with MR :(
I mean, to be able to give a good preview to my client in ten minutes using a low cost WS has no price!

Have a nice render time,
Alessandro

Good idea, fully approved ;)

So, have a good work, wait for beta 1 release!

Capitain, fully agree.
DeadClown, thanks for your suggest, but as Capitain said, these are corrections that change the perspective, they doesn't work as a real shifted camera.

Ondra, can you add please in CoronaCameraMod support for setting white balance?
It's not very comfortable to make it globally in settings, sometimes different settings of WB needs for the same scene , so it's more comfortable to change it via camera :)

+1 for me.

Btw, very good news, so useful for me!!!
I'm dreaming about vertical and horizontal camera shift, may I ask this for Christmas? ;)

You very simply just add camera correction modifier on top of corona camera modifier

Camera correction modifier is not exactly a shift (it change the perspective), and it run just vertically.

Edit: we often need to offset the camera view when we create images for catalogs. In photography, a lot of studios work with this kind of technique and often our client ask us to work in this way. Now, the only way to do it is to have a larger view and render a region, but it means a lot of lost boring time...

Cazzarola! Faces number is incredible!! How did you create this incredible number?
And, of course, Corona is incredible, 2h to have a so nice image with all these poligons...!!!! Incredible, again! ;)

Btw, the image is cool ;)
