Title: Ex-Machina Architecture - Norway
Post by: tomislavn on 2016-01-12, 10:08:37
Even though I was quite late with seeing the movie (it came out like half year ago), I took some time yesterday evening and watched it with my wife.

Honestly, I must say that I was absolutely stunned by the architecture. Since I am not really that much into architecture nor did I study it or anything, I haven't had a clue that place existed for real in Norway (Jensen & Skodvin Architects). I did some research after seeing the movie and found out plenty of topics and pictures of it.

That place is insanely cool and mesmerizing. I simply cannot express how much did it impress me, but I will definitely take some time to do some shots that resemble it using Corona someday :)

Any of you guys had similar experiences after seeing it?

I haven't seen "Ex Machina", but I have seen "The Machine" which is an older movie, and has strangely many similarities to "Ex Machina" (including the name of the main character, which is pretty ridiculous). It was a movie with low budget but nice ideas and good realization. Now I have to check out "Ex Machina" and compare. ;)

You should see Le règne de la beauté

Movie isn't good, but house architecture style in Canada is pretty nice.

I was thrilled by the architecture in that movie aswell.

You might also like the buildings of US Architect Tom Kundig. Lofty, rough and alot of nature.
He works and looks a little bit like the "MacGyver" in architecture ;-)

Would be great to see some renderings in that style.
