Hi,

This is the attempt to reproduce Marcel Wanders Studio's -  Casa Son Vida bedroom space in 3D

http://www.homedsgn.com/2011/03/29/casa-son-vida-1-by-tecarchitecture-and-marcel-wanders-studio/casa-son-vida-1-palma-de-majorque-7/

Although there are some things to add - this is the general concept for this particular shot.

This is the original resolution, took one hour - i7 3770K - w/o O.C. 16 gb ram.

Critics are most welcome !

Another angle,

In previous post I was using a simple hdri map & sky-portals (from outside)

This one is using CoronaSun & CoronaSky + portals, I think I'll loose the Sun - it affects the walls in yellow tint.

Raw render showing PT+HD progressive solver, took 2 hours to render. At sample level 50.

Anyway, proceeding with shading and accessories.

The flare is waaay of the charts, blows the elegant and clean effect. The scene overal looks promicing.

Where did you get that nice Column? Did you download it or modeled based on Wanders?

Hi  and thank you for a constructive feedback :)
The column was modeled in max.

The flare is waaay of the charts, blows the elegant and clean effect.
You are right, the carpet is gone now too.

As you mentioned - elegant, a lot of time is spent setting the mood in this work (both 3D & 2D).

The main issue right now is what to do with the BG. Modeling rough builds and putting some trees is definitely makes it look a lot sexier - the disadvantage is.. that right - render times.
Adding it in post is fast but almost never look convenient enough for me.
By the way, here comes another angle:

Neat, I like this scene.

I would't go any further than one or two trees the main picture is nice enough.

Of its a quick paste in PS so dont expect some good quality.

Very nice ! It works visually :)

Got my Intuos 5 today finally, so yeah - gonna do the bg's and some texture details in post.

Here are another view.. I don't really like my bed's fabric. In Juraj's works the fabrics are so white and clean where in my scene they look more like "plastic" :(

Hi Elvis, regarding request:

this is crosspost btw from my thread with icelandic house in gallery section. Some additional info: I tried the glossy bed fabrics...I moved away. It doesn't seem to be the proper way to simulate it to good result. Mine is white maybe because it's really white, RGB210. And that is quite something, because most of my whites are around ~160-180 RGB, never much higher.

----------------------cross post------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bed fabric: Extremely simple. At some point, I had variant with displace, then normal map, but in the end I settled for simple bump map. Works wonders :- ) I would like to point out this is the
brightest material in whole scene, with RGB level 210!, every other white is between 160-180 RGB including white paint.
