What C4D version?
Did you restart all client machines after TR client installation?

I run 3 Mac clients connected on the same network to a server that runs the license server
with the “LicensingServerLogin.txt” inside the application folder on the machine that runs the lic server.
My main machine gets the license from the server too.
Out of habit, I install all plugins on the client machines, use the server mainly for texture storage.   
Where are your plugins installed? If on server, did you specify plugin search path on the client machines?

thanks for sharing.
Did you render the same scene on an intel Mac too?
The ray total# seems very low for this kind of scene. Doesn’t look like the mats are overly complex, and the rays/sample look normal.
Would be interested to see a Intel Mac comparison of this scene, if possible.

Maybe it's time to update the corona benchmark tool.
The M1 max in the result list shows similar rays/s that a i7-8700K got in 2018.
Not sure if this is a real comparison if the benchmark runs in rosetta.

I tried the Real-IES a long time ago when they first hit the installer and they gave me excessive fireflies.
Back then I reported that a custom install on macOs lets you only deselect one (1) of the additional “features” LUT, IES and now material lib.
Still happening in V7- try to deselect all 3.
It’s a slippery slope to bloatware from here… ;-)

This is not directly related to corona but I I’m trying to wrap my head around the “new“ asset browser concept.
It seems like all assets (PBR maps, etc.) get saved inside the database folder.
Does that mean the old content browser concept of using global tex links to images stored on a server is gone? 
Is there a secret shortcut that keeps global tex links in place and doesn’t copy images to the database?
Watched several videos about how great the asset browser is but it seems we lost the flexibility
of where exactly these assets are stored.
What am I missing here?

Looks like the win version has a trial but the mac version doesn't?

Hi all,
I’m still using CrazyBump, but I’m currently updating macOS and CB will not run anymore.
What are you guys using on Mac to generate normal, spec etc maps?
Years back I tried B2M but that kept constantly crashing, so I went back to CB.
I work in archviz and mostly use already saved materials, but every now and then I need to create custom materials. 
Any pointers to, what app is as simple and fast to use as CB, is appreciated.

V7 RC1 C4D R23 macOS 10.15
I saved a .cxr (not exr!) during a long render session, just in case… and then something did go wrong.
After restarting I tried to “resume file” (small triangle in VFB render button), but all .cxr files are greyed out.  I can’t load any file only save a new file in that dialog…
Same in the PV “resume from cxr" - all cxr’s are greyed out.
The CXR that I’m trying to load opens in C-image editor - no file corruption…
Is this a bug or is there another way to “resume file”?

Are you sayin’ you can now render in color? This is great news.
I followed you advice and poured ink over my gpu, but my renders are still b/w.
What’s going on? I realized corona is using the cpu. Do I need a color cpu? Can you help me? This is not worth my time! I’m throwing my old PC in the garbage and get a new one that can render colors. Thanks.

Thanks Michael,
made a quick test and this looks promising.
My main reason to use the c-multi shader was the “mesh element” mode for leaves etc.
Just wondering if you know a similar setup for the variation shader?
I used it with “polygon step” which only works if all leaves have the exact same poly count.

Anyways, thanks so much for your tip, for a better tile setup!

thanks for your response.
I’m usually loading 9 -12 floorboard or tile textures plus corresponding normal and gloss maps into a material. Would that be possible with the variation shader?
I could use the c4d multi shader that does not suffer from this issue but is limited to mograph objects. I like that the corona multi shader works (randomizing) on all kinds of objects. That makes it so great for foliage.

Still interested to hear from the developers if the changing pattern is a feature or a bug.

Hi all,
Is there any way to keep the C multi shader from changing it’s random distribution when the hierarchy in the object manager changes? Every time you add an object on top in the object manager the multi shader changes.
While that doesn’t matter on tree leaves etc, I use the C multi shader a lot for floors and tiles and in these cases the changing pattern is a real problem.
Is this behavior a feature or a bug?
So far the only thing I could figure out is to move all objects below the objects with multi shader materials, but in large scenes with many multi shaders that quickly becomes a scene organizing nightmare.
I made a small test scene (attached) to check if v7 fixed this. Nope.
If someone wants to try, just drop in cubes to see what happens.

Any ideas how to “bake” the distribution pattern?

Sorry for the late response... deadlines.
I got the ies to render by turning off "render instance" in the instance object.
Didn't make that clear that I'm using "RENDER instances".

No multi-instance for me, still on R18.

Are instanced ies lights supported in corona?
The ies (or a regular corona light) renders in the reference object but not in the instances.
How do you set this up to work correctly?
