Confirmed.
Fast and nice fix.

Thx!

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Re: A few items that are not working
« on: 2018-01-29, 15:20:04 »
I said we MIGHT think about it, not that we will do it :-D This just implies that it's a good idea...
Remind me of me and my wife.
When she asks me to change my way of eating, I also tell her I might think about it.
This just implies it's a good idea, but I still love fast food ;)

Here is the file.
A small job... tried to finish with corona but stuck in that. no idea where is wrong, placed new camera, new lights but something is wrong.

Thanks.

It actually renders fine and sharp here. Do you have DOF enabled in your original scene, maybe without specifying a focus object?

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Crash with Motion Blur
« on: 2018-01-28, 21:54:24 »
I am having crashes when I activate "motion blur - objects".

Win 10, R19, Corona Beta 1 RC 2

scene uploaded as 1517172914_crashscene-usb-hub2e-corona.c4d

770
It's kind of fixed, but see attachment - for some reason, the shadow of the cube example is upside down (?)

R19 now, Win 10, Beta 1 RC 3

771
wow.... something weird when moving texture....!
object showing strange in IR.
stop IR and start again then shows fine.

see before and after.

...
I'd love to see that happen with my money!

772
Thank you (also for the workaround).
Michael

Not really, the displacement only works for the base layer.

Yes, but when I put a second layer over the base material, it does not kill the underlying displacement. Big difference.

Of course, I would also love to have "mixed" stacking and for the layer shader to have all channels working not only for the base material, but that's another issue to be solved.

774
Yeah, that might be problematic still... We will need to look into this issue

Thx. Since it does work with the layered shader, it is not a limitation per se.

775
Correction: EVERY kind of stacking kills the displacement, which makes it not usable.

776
Motion Blur for Point Level Animation (PLA, "morphing", deformer animation including with joints) is not yet working. Are there plans to support it?

777
Had it again, I wanted to add a wet stain onto a tiled floor (no UV mapping involved) and I wanted this stain to interact with the underlying bump and color - a PITA to do without "Mix texture" (and a child's play with "Mix Texture" natively in C4D).
I really miss this.

R19, Win 10, Corona Beta 1 RC 2
Left image: Base material with displacement, blue color added with Falloff and material stacking: Displacement does not render.
Right image: Same with Layered material and Falloff as a mask there: Displacement renders.

The noise in the viewport will be different from a rendering with the Advanced Renderer, too, unless you use the noise in 2D-UV-space.

For caustics to look better, you may want to try another render engine than "progressive" (see screenshot), Bidir and PPM seem to be the best working with caustics.
They DO have their limitations, though, Bidir seems to ignore volumetric effects, so it's inverse biblical (wine to water) in your renderings.
You also might want to (drastically) increase your MSI value (Max. Sample Intensity in the Performance Settings).
Improvements for caustics are on the roadmap for Max, so hopefully, they will come to C4D as well soon.
