I had reported this same issue a long way back, and Benjamin showed me one step I was missing. I can't remember it now of course (the image was of Stonehenge made out of giant Christmas tree lights). I had some grunge decals that were not rendering on the instances. Benjamin showed one simple thing to make it work. Same as this, but now that I set up a test scene, it seems to work. I used the same C4D r20 as before.

Wait, I just remembered the solution. Wardy, make your Decal a Child of the mesh. That should do the trick. I just tested this and it still works for me even when not a child. Let us know either way.

MacOS 12.5.1, C4D r20, Corona Version 12 (Daily Build Mar 11 2024)

NOTE: This version installs new data used by PRG sky model that is currently incompatible with previous versions of Corona. This data is automatically upgraded/downgraded when running installer, however you might have problems if you use multiple versions of Corona at the same time (for example when keeping older Corona versions installed in separate installation of Cinema 4D). We are working on removing this limitation in the future daily builds.

  • Added:
    • Added option to enable edge trimming for the whole Chaos Scatter (i.e. without modifying individual materials used on scattered objects)
    • Added spline UI for additional control of Look At in Chaos Scatter
    • Added option to select connected nodes (incoming and/or outgoing) for nodes in material node editor
      • incoming nodes can be also selected by Alt + left click
    • When new material/shader is added in material node editor, all newly added nodes are selected
    • Added support for exporting several C4D shaders for rendering with Corona Standalone (Checkerboard, Normal direction, Fresnel, Gradient, Falloff, Fusion and Layer)
    • Added accurate sampling mode for environment maps that is slower but delivers more accurate results, especially for large environment maps
    • Added option to distinguish media based on their material (e.g. two intersecting objects with the same material will be now considered as a single volume)
      • this is automatically active for new scenes
  • Fixed:
    • Fixed several issues in Chaos Scatter where instances would not generate for a long time
      • This should hopefully resolve some of the reported issues where the scene would not load for extreme amount of time, please let us know if you can still reproduce it.
    • Fixed issue where changing tone mapping after rendering finishes would reset color profile of image in Picture viewer
    • Improved detection of low memory on macOS (showing RAM usage warning)
    • Reduced UI freezing when using distribution shader in Chaos Scatter distributing over high amount of triangles
    • Fixed maximum value for randomization options in Tile shader
  • Changed:
    • Legacy options in Development/Experimental section in render settings were organized into single section
    • Extended range of solar elevations supported by the PRG sky model
      • it can now render all solar elevations down to -12 degrees (previously only to -4.2 degrees)

CoronaCamera environment overrides are in progress and this should be easy to do in future :)

This alone will not. In almost every camera matching scene, you additionally need at least one shadow catcher material using the current background image for matte objects. This cannot be covered by a camera environment override. Additionally, think of camera matched/tracked animation.

In the meantime, there may be different workarounds with 3ds Max Scene and State sets.

Either I have/had crashes (yes, with CoronaCamera parameter block queries in the call stack of the crashing thread) or had them stop working midst project doing weird stuff. Additionally rendering out multiple shots in one go is not possible without making things complicated. So I humbly returned to the workflow described above after each try :)

Hi guys!

I want to present you with a set of still images and an animation created for the project we took care of a while ago.
We were responsible for designing the coworking space and preparing a set of CGI and motion.
The main idea was to emphasize the existing ceilings and use their rhythm as a matrix for a couple of other finishings.
Our goal was to create a welcoming space with a dose of refreshing energy from greenery that would be helpful for creativity.

Since there was a Hotfix to Corona 11 and also the new 2024.4 had some promising new feature, I've installed both and tried out our beloved little bugs. Seems like the bug somehow changed . Now, the color stays after re-loading it from the Asset Browser (most of the time), but the Bump value still is replaced with the full 100%, instead of the previously set value before loading it into the database. Just for a quick update on the topic from my side.

Ufff, I guess I will keep 2024.1 installed just to save assets 💀 Really a shitty era for software reliability

Still here in 11H1, it's annoying as hell as the C4D PV is the only way to save layered EXR.

Could you guys fix it in the next release, or add layered exr support to the Corona VFB, whatever which one is faster to fix?
