[C4D] Feature Requests / Corona texture baking (GI)
« on: 2021-03-23, 10:51:05 »
Would be awesome to have it in C4D :)

I'm busting my head trying to figure out how to get texture baking to work with Corona inside C4D. I need to bake the GI into a texture so I can export the illuminated model out in .gltf for a web plugin.

I mean it works just fine with standard C4D render engine, but when I use Corona - the bake texture tag won't capture the light setup of Corona render and it renders it all flat color like it can only see the default viewport lightning setup (im using Cinema sky object with HDR in light material).

EDIT: Just to mention that the map i'm using in color channel of the material is the Corona AO with an added texture in unoccluded channel as I'm using it to get worn out edges onto the model.

Thank you all in advance

Not sure when it will be done or will it ever be, but I am having a blast with Corona :)

C4D + Corona, no post (apart from Corona VFB)

Gallery / Snowy cabin in Alps
« on: 2017-11-17, 16:37:42 »
I had some time to spare so I decided to do something like this to steer away from my daily product visualization workflow :)

This render is based on a sweet little snowy cabin house in Switzerland - Gaudin House. All inspirational credits go to Savioz Fabrizzi Architectes.

Free models used in this scene are from www.designconnected.com so a big shoutout to them! Sofa on the left is a free 3d model from our beloved www.viz-people.com (massive kudos to you boys, amazing freebies) - thank you!

I might add some snow on the window sometimes, but for now, I think I will keep it this way.

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Any chance for dispersion?
« on: 2017-02-23, 09:22:31 »
Is there any chance that we could expect dispersion in Corona anytime soon? :)

I know I asked for that plenty of times already but it is one of the functions that I cannot go on without - rendering a lot of jewelry for clients and I still need to use V-Ray for it :(

Work in Progress/Tests / Dental handpiece - test render
« on: 2016-08-17, 11:17:40 »
Do you guys think this looks realistic? I am preparing for some dental equipment catalogue renderings for one company that is producing them so I gave it a test shot before starting the real deal.

All comments/critics are welcome :) Thank you!

[Max] I need help! / Toon edges - Corona
« on: 2016-06-27, 09:35:37 »
Hey guys, did anyone tried to do something similar to this using Corona? I have done this in Vray (sketch/toon edges) for some vintage style apartment website (villa exterior). Do we currently have any option to replicate this in Corona?

Off-Topic / Ex-Machina Architecture - Norway
« on: 2016-01-12, 10:08:37 »
Even though I was quite late with seeing the movie (it came out like half year ago), I took some time yesterday evening and watched it with my wife.

Honestly, I must say that I was absolutely stunned by the architecture. Since I am not really that much into architecture nor did I study it or anything, I haven't had a clue that place existed for real in Norway (Jensen & Skodvin Architects). I did some research after seeing the movie and found out plenty of topics and pictures of it.

That place is insanely cool and mesmerizing. I simply cannot express how much did it impress me, but I will definitely take some time to do some shots that resemble it using Corona someday :)

Any of you guys had similar experiences after seeing it?

Hey Ondra, how is the OSX port going? Any more precise ETA? (apart from the Q1 2016. in Trello for Max :P)

Work in Progress/Tests / Old house reconstruction - previz
« on: 2015-11-09, 08:33:42 »
Hey fellow Coronauts :)

I am currently working on a project that includes an old stone house that is being rebuilt into a modern villa (where some parts of the stone dry walls remain for decoration). This is only the living room part that is almost empty since I have just started with it, but I think you should get the general sense of the style. Also, white wall pattern looks a bit rough and stretched, but it is like that in real life also :)

What do you think about the drywall? Does it look believable at all? Do you think I should stick to this displacement or should I go on and sculpt it in Mudbox?

P.S. Don't mind the texture watermark (depositphotos) - I am still in a process of searching for a good drywall texture.

Looking forward to your comments or ideas :) Thank you!

Hey guys, I am currently doing a pre-viz of an old house that is being reconstructed / remade as a villa for tourists over summer.

There is a lot of walls / window and door frames made out of stone, so I wondered if anyone would like to share his approach on doing this :). Here is a photo of one window frame in attachment - they are all different in real life, meaning the patterns are not really the same but similar actually (same pattern will be used for all windows in visualization though).

I thought about modeling it by hand or maybe creating some displacement maps, maybe even masking the wall then using blend material to show stones under the wall paint. Plenty of those to create so I wished to discuss it a bit before proceeding with any.

Thank you very much in advance for any feedback :)

[Max] I need help! / [solved] Realistic snow in Corona
« on: 2015-10-06, 15:22:11 »
Hey guys, I am currently working on a project that includes lots of snow and I am kinda stuck in making it look realistic - precisely, I'm stuck with creating believable sparkles. Is there anyone who did it before so he could help me a bit with that? Thank you in advance :)

P.S. Here is some quick references about the looks I am trying to achieve.
