I am probably overlooking something but I don't see any way to use Chaos Scans. I can't buy or try it since I already have a premium subscription and I do not see any link anywhere to scans libraries.
Is this a feature not yet released ?

BTW, I am feeling pressure here at the office why I need an additional 1000 a year for C4D & CR when others here are having a ball with Unreal Engine 5 or Blender for free.... I keep telling its a quality thing you can't have for free but I am beginning to loose ground....

In case you're like me, I don't see the world icon, but that area is clickable. I may submit as a bug.

You can also go directly to the library on the web at:  https://download.chaos.com/vrscans
You'll need to log in. The downloaded files, in .vrscan format, go in the slot picture above or you can click the button to find it and add it that way as you would with an image.

Please do submit that as a bug so that if it is indeed is not showing up correctly we can fix it up for others as well. Never mind this part, noticed you already reported it, thank you!

As all the above posts have suggested though, you can get to Chaos Scans via the web icon inside the Chaos Scanned material or by just simply going to the website quoted above.

We also just released a tutorial on the basics of Chaos Scans which might be useful to you - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK4EFPgCJEU

Hope that helps and I'd also like to thank all the posters before me for chiming in and helping the OP! :)

Tx, all clear now.
I tried a wood scanned texture. I could change the tiling scale but it seemed like moving or rotating a scanned texture did not work. Changing a UV to Cubic mapping also gave some unexpected behavior.

@frv I've also noticed the Scanned Materials don't seem to play nice with exisitng UVW tags. Try setting it to Cubic, delete the old UVW tag then select Generate UV Coordinates. Seems to work much better, but I'm not even close to an expert on on UW mapping. In fact, I usually resort to Cubic because I'm a dummy. :-)

We have logged the missing icon issue and will deal with it. As for some materials not performing as expected. This is due to one's mesh having poor UVW mapping. It can generally be resolved in Cinema's UV edit or similar. Here, another user was facing that very issue. https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=38257.msg205203#msg205203
