100% convert does not work in most cases but still converting materials saves me a lot of work, probably most of the work.

tx, I downloaded the build on my Mac Studio that is not connected to iCloud. This works properly. Love the new clouds. No more going through hdr's to get some clouds in the background.

I think the problem might the iCloud conncection on my macbook m1 on the volume where I download the daily build. I will check this later on trying to download the build again as well on my macbook.

Hi I tried to download the latest daily build but the download stalls. First time that happens to me.
The file downloads but it remains a .download file that can not be openend. I checked the package contents and there it looks ok but also the installer does not start.

I don't check this often but I saw also that at times CR renders at 80%. But recently my Studio 20 cores does render at 1960% when I check.

The asset browser can be a problem depending on how fast your hardest is, I have a Mac studio with very fast internal ssd and now files open super quick. R26 CRv9.
C4D also changed the way previews for the asset browser are done. You can now assign local previews instead of having to download all assets before you use them.

I have a Mac Studio 20c with 128 Gb ram. I noticed that on renders that take a lot of ram, close to 128 or even more and swapping processor speed lowers to less than 1950% to around 1600-1700%. 1960% is usually maximum.

Indeed, and the pattern modifier also cuts the pattern at the edges.
I can speed the rendertiime up by a lot since Arroway provided these gravel patterns in two layers on top of each other. I used the two layers and I think I could have just as well used only one. This pattern modifier is really a big step forward.

Hi,
I wanted to create a decall with a material that only gives a displacement or bump. Is it possible in Coronarender to create a material like that. So no other shader effects then bump or displacement ?

Any help appreciated.

Did a quick test with Arroway 3D gravel. Imported the gravel mesh as OBJ and made a corona material with the by Arroway supplied image maps. The UV's where already imported/placed with the Arroway meshes.

The attached render test where done on my MacBook Air m1 with 16Gb. Testrenders only a few minutes.
Amazing these 3D gravel meshes can now be used with Coronarender in such a simple way.

The test render is a Cinema4D landscape of 20x20 m with the 2x2m Arroway mesh tiled at 10 x 10 (U/V). Time to first pixel is actually very fast. But I had to switch the Pattern modifier of to have any kind of viewport speed. With the modifier on I couldn't zoom or pan at all.

tx for the tip on the tutorial for Max.

I just remembered I had bought the Arroway textures 3D gravel patterns a long time ago ( https://www.arroway-textures.ch/products/gravel-1/)  that I never used. But with the Corona Pattern feature now they must be fantastic. I can't wait to try those.

I would love to see a little video or manual on the new pattern modifier for settings like object space/world space or whole or crop box and xy, zy and xz. It seems all very straight forward though but I am getting all sorts of unpredictable results. An example file with some presets would also do.

Its so busy here at the office that I dare not try new features. The pattern modifier looks great though.

I hear nothing really. But I work in an office with a lot of sounds. At home I also heard nothing though. Unless I put my ears next to the Studio Ultra. And this was while rendering for hours using all cores and 125Gb memory.

I work with a Mac Studio m1 128Gb.
I think the performance is what you expect from a 20 core CPU. The benchmarks equal those of PC's with the same amount (hyper)threads. I notice though that the kind of scene or model and how "smart" it is modeled makes a huge difference. That aplies to PC's as well I would say.
The Mac Studio with its fast read and write RAM and SSD is a joy to work with. I think if you want GPU performance on final high res renders you need a different set up.
