Guys. I just checked the next: Max crashes when saving bitmap in PS - that thing we all already know. But I thought it only crashes when bitmap is uploaded to slot (Diffuse etc.). I tried to clear slot, to make no connection between PS & 3dsmax. Well, even without texture in slot max crashes anyway immediately after saving in photoshop. Thats the way it is ... ((

Here is my new work.
Corona 1.0/ 200 passes / 1800 px by long side
Lit by CoronaSky & some lights inside
Sampling balance - 20, everything else by default
Even after 200 passes I could not completely get rid of the noise. (I tried 350 passes in region but still the same). Maybe someone give some advice about this?

this happens for me too, but not every time. I can't ctch it exactly when it happens and why.
Sometimes editing texture in protoshop and everything is fine, and sometmes after saving rexture and switching to 3dsmax - it crashes immediately.

The same problem. Main reason why I start this topic. But for me, it crashed almost everytime I save edited texture in PS. Not during render, but only when texture already loaded into slot. I did not check if it cause only when showing texture in viewport or not, need to check it manualy. Im sure that it was not in previous version of corona

Hello. Seems new corona version cause this crash, because with A7 and earlier versions It did not happened.
Situation is as follows: I create new material, insert a texture map in all slots i need. Next, when I need to modify the texture in photoshop (in diffuse slot, as example), after saving I have crash of max.

3ds max 2014 x64 SP5
Corona 1.00.02

Please, give some advice

So this is probably the cause. In low resolution rendering, the displacement should work fine. If the resolution is so high, the mesh becomes subdivided multiple times. You can for example try lowering displacement quality settings (either bigger screen size or lower max subdiv per poly, or both).

Thank you, Maru. I just decrease subdivs per poly from 800 to 500 and everything goes fine.

Scene is not very complicated and consist of not more then 1 000 000 poly. I have enough RAM, I think, because I don't see any message about out of ram during render. It just hangs and thats it.

Help. Don't know what to do. Scene hangs at building acc. structure. Time is running and did not step next to GI prerendering.
Resolution are 9k. What options I need to tweak to let it render

P.S Scene hangs at same position and give an error even on render farm (

In older versions there was an option "enviro portal" in materials. Now its gone. So, seems that only solution to insert portals to scene is to add planes with portal material. Whats the reason of removing "enviro portal" option ?

I think that is a main reason of very often max crashes =))). Ondra need to be informed about it ;-)

What is the "god days" in tips about "single bounce only" from scattering option in mat.editor? ))))
