Would need to know scene set up - is that a composite after rendering? Is this how it comes out in the render? Is it using anything like the Shadowcatcher?

EDIT - you also say "in animation", does that mean this does not happen with the same scene if rendered as a still? Also, if it is a composite after render, what layers are you using, what format are you saving to, and how are you compositing it all back together?

I remember having something similar once, I believe it had something to do with the Alpha, I think if straight alfa was turned on it would come out like that in the picture viewer, but don't hold me to it. Multipass was ok though.
You can investigate that as a start if nothing else.

Hi, yes. Straight Alpha was the issue here.

One note on that edge effect. Usually this is only in the picture viewer with or without Corona. If you are rendering with not need for an alpha, but still see it, then you have a problem. Even a standard render will show that, but when you view the alpha or composite the image later, it's perfect.
