Hi,

I am suddenly getting a "Cannot open the Cosmos Browser, because Cosmos Service is not running." error in C4D (Mac), when trying to Open the Cosmos Browser. How do I fix this?

Thanks,
Anders

You can try the below instructions and/or contact our tech support at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Uninstall Chaos Cosmos by going to: /Applications/Chaos/Cosmos/uninstall/Uninstall
If they exist, remove the following folders: /Library/Chaos/Cosmos/Library/ChaosGroup/ChaosCosmos
Download and install Cosmos again: https://download.chaos.com/?platform=47&product=62

Check if Cosmos is working now.

In case the above steps did not help:
Execute in Terminal: sudo launchctl unload ~/Library/LaunchAgents/CCBService.plist
Delete:  ~/Library/Application\ Support/Chaos/Cosmos
Execute in Terminal: sudo launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/CCBService.plist

Check if Cosmos is working now.

I hope this long-standing, recurring issue is on the To-Do list to finally fix. I tend to avoid Cosmos updates until I have the to time wait for the "only seconds to update" which always take MUCH longer and then the "unable to open..." message. Then you have to re-install Cosmos. More and more assets are being moved to Cosmos, but we still have this issue and still many poorly converted materials as well.

That is a workaround a problem with the software, not really a solution. It does get you back online, but...
