Hello everyone,

I hope you are well.
I am having an issue I can't get my head around.
I recently updated to 8.2 and using max 2018.

Somehow when i use and corona physical material from the library, (in this case Concrete Bare Cast Murral) it has a real world map of 6x6 meters.
Here is the thing:

When I apply this material to a 6x6 box it is not scaled properly: the box parameters of creating world map si checked, real world also and a uvw map modidier with real world is used.
So there you should be an issue I guess unless i  am missing something.
The scale of the bitmap is off!!

This material has a corona color correct text map in the base color slot ( the concrete bitmap is plugged into it). 
If i bypass this color correct textmap the scale is perfect.

On another note if I create a corona legacy material and plugin the color correct textmap the scale is fine.
Also if I convert the corona physical to a legacy material everything is fine.

Therefore I must think this is an issue with the corona physical material.

If any of you could help me it would be higly appreciated.

[Max] I need help! / object properties cast shadows

Hello everyone,

While unchecking the cast shadows of an object the object in object properties ( in this case tree leaves) while it stops casting shadows it also seems to drastically change color as if it becomes excluded from GI.
In my case the lighting source is an HDRI.
Am I missing something?
I tried a rayswitch material and it disabled the gi and shadows itself so no luck there.

If anyone as any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated?

Hello there,

I wanted to know if it is possible to run different versions of corona (2 and 3) respectively on max 2014 and max 2018 on the same computer.

If so is there a tutorial out there of should i folllow this but somehow modified.

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Vfb History

Hello there, quick question about the vfb history.  I might be missing something but is it possible to view saved snapshots after closing 3ds max and reopening the file.
I am able to save snapshot but after closing and reopening the file the history is empty.

[Max] I need help! / Glass reflection

Hello there and sorry but I seem to have some difficulty with glass mat.
I am attaching a quick test of a scene where I modeled the glass windows with 2 panes and applied the glass mat unchecked provided in the basic set by Ludvik. (Thin checked)
Sorry im not attaching the ref pass but in any case I can't see any noticeable reflection neither in the beauty pass nor in the ref pass.
I should especially see it in the 2nd floor windows reflecting the green wall
Could it have something to do with the angle of the camera and if so the reflections would be more or less visible?
I did get better result when I rotated the window panes towards the camera?
Could anyone share how to achieve a glass mat with very strong reflections regardless it the viewing angle?

Hello there,

I would like to reduce the bend or if i understand it correctly the IOR of the reflection in my windows.  I have set up two planes one behind the other in each window.
Thin is checked and I cant find a way to reduce the bend.
I tried to reduce the fresnel IOR in the reflection slot but with no good result...
