Hi,

I´m having some trouble both in a commercial project and in a personal project.
The problem is serious persistent noise that won´t go away.

This is a problem in both projects and something I have had problems with more and more with each new version of Corona.

Both scenes are lit with HDRI´s from cg-source.

I´ve tried the following things without any luck:

- Resetting Corona settings to default
- Merge everything to a new clean and empty scene
- Made sure Bitmap Proxies/Paging is disabled
- Removed everything except walls, floor, ceiling and windows
- Removed all bitmaps for diffuse, refl. gloss, and bump
- Made sure the window glass uses the "Thin (no refraction)" option

I´m using 2x Xeon 2697 V3 and still the speed feels way worse than with Alpha 6/7 and my old i7 6-core.

I´ve attached a few images to demonstrate what kind of noise I´m talking about and one image of the albedo value for one of the scenes.

Any help would be very appreciated!

(I can of course send over my scene, just need little hint on how to and where)

I wanted to do a warehouse conversion for a long time so here is my latest project called "Warehouse conversion".

I know I asked this before but I thought I bring it up in a separate thread.

My question is if there is any possibility to bring back the function to use exposure and compression highlight in VFB even though you have a cameramod enabled?

I think it gives a lot of flexibility and you can have separate exposure for each camera but still change exposure and compression highlight during/after rendering.

I use this an every project I do and removing this has really disturbed my workflow...

I´m of course open for possibilities how this would be implemented, for instance a checkbox where you can override or something.

The important thing would be to bring this back!! :)

Hi,

I have used 3Ds Max 2015 with the latest service pack (sp3) for a while now.

Is it just me or did they manage to slow down material rendering (in both slate and compact) EVEN more?

Curious if anyone noticed the same thing?

Hardware / Asus Z10PE-D8 WS motherboard beeps?

Hi,

The story so far:

A couple weeks ago I bought a new workstation:

Supermicro x10DAi motherboard
2x Intel Xeon E5-2697v3
8x8 Samsung DDR4 ram memory

I got several beeps and had a long mail contact with the support at Supermicro.
With no solution and me afraid of ruining an expensive workstation, I panicked and bought a new motherboard hoping that that would solve my problem.

So I ordered an Asus Z10PE-D8 WS motherboard, installed everything again and STILL getting F/&¤%#% beeps!

So I have for the last hour tried ram-memory module one by one, sometimes I only get one beep and sometimes 2 beeps followed by 1 beep.
I have also updated to the latest bios.

The beeps are 2 short beeps and then 1 short, more high pitched beep.

Does anybody know what the problem could be?

Would appreciate some help if anybody knows :)

[Max] I need help! / Glass refraction issue

Hello!

I´m having some problem with glass and refraction.

I have create glass panels (simple box with chamfered edges) and I get some weird black stuff on the furniture behind the glass.
When I enable "thin (no refraction)" the problem goes away.

Why is that?

Would be happy if someone could shed some light on this :)

I have attached an image with and without the problem and material settings.

Playing around with some new HDRI´s to try to speed up material creation for interiors.

Kind of liked the result I was getting from some of the HDRI´s.

Hello!

This is really not a big request, but I was wondering if the pre-selected choice when adding CMasking_ID render element could be "Source node ID" or anyone other than "Primitive ID"?
I don´t really find primitve ID that useful, maybe I just don´t know what to use it for?

I often forget to change that when I need that render element :)

Maybe I´m the only one, haha!
