Hello,
I recently switched to Corona 8 on 3dsmax 2022.
Everything was working fine on Corona 7 Hotfix 1 but after switching to version 8 problems start.
First The startup time for 3dsmax 2022 is very long (splash banner stuck a lot on Loading plugin: .....\......\....\CoronaMax2022.dlr).
Then 3dsmax 2022 is unworkable because it stucks a lot at any moment. I've installed the same set for many machines in the office without problems.

Here is the spec of the machine that giving issues (other machines are exactly the same specs):

Microsoft Windows 10 Business

Processor   Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6208U CPU @ 2.90GHz, 2900 Mhz, 16 Core(s), 32 Logical Processor(s)

Installed Physical Memory (RAM)   128 GB

Quadro RTX 5000, NVIDIA compatible[/li][/list]

Plugins:

Free Plugins (BerconMaps+MultiTexture+FloorGenerator)

Itoo forest pack

I briefly tested Corona 9 and it has the same problem, but everything ok when I re-installed Corona 7 HotFix1

Do you have any idea where the issue is coming from???

Any saved start up scene, e.g. so that Max starts in Corona? If so, does resaving that from one of the new Corona versions make a difference? (May want to keep a backup of the earlier start up scene if you do save a new one)

No, same issue even if I startup 3dsmax 2022 with Corona scene (also very basic and light for geometries and settings).

Another detail: after many stuck moments when I open the render settings window to activate Corona, Chrome cannot reach the Active license window 10.10.100.90:30304. After few seconds the Chrome browser says "10.10.100.90 took too long to respond"

Is there any chance to get in touch through a Teams meeting so it's quicker to explain?

Out of curiosity, is it the same when you launch 3dsmax as administrator? I had to do this the first 2 times after updating plugins/software, then it loads normally now without admin.

Yes, I was testing it with ADMIN account and credential over the last couple of hours.
I've been testing quickly also firewall related to Corona, it seems all fine.

Sorry just to clarify, when I say run as admin I mean right click on 3dsmax > run as administrator. Not signing into a different account.

I tried both, first attempt was with "run as admin mode" and then I tried to install and work corona 8 directly for the admin account

never heard of  "run as admin mode" , but my last suggestion would be:

Copy this directory to your desktop (as a backup), then delete the ENU folder, start 3dsmax normally, is the startup still slow? If it starts normal there is something corrupt in your settings (ENU folder), if not you will need further assistance from Chaosgroup.

C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2022 - 64bit\ENU

Tried that, now it's even worse. I cannot even start 3ds2022. It freezes after the splash page

Here a screenshot:

ENU folder moved, 3ds2022 started with corona8 and it freezes and the ENU folder is not reappearing.
Once I uninstalled corona8 and started 3ds2022 again ENU reappeared ina matter of seconds.

Once you move the folder and start 3dsmax it should reappear as it creates a new one with default settings.

If its frozen that's not good lol. That sounds like you have something else going on, I would email support and see what they suggest. I had something similar happen last week and had to do a full reinstall of 3dsmax.

Yes, that's very weird. As I said, 3ds22 with Corona8 installed was struggling to even boot and create the ENU folder. Once I uninstalled Corona8 leaving 3ds22 with the default settings the ENU came back in seconds. No Idea!

Listen to this: I've been trying to install corona8 on another machine (3dsmax was already there) with the same account that it's causing issues and the problem still persists: I cannot reach the Corona License Server page  on Chrome

I will now start a support ticket on your behalf and you will be soon contacted by the dedicated team.

Please note that in case of licensing issues it is best to contact our support right away rather than write on the forum. The main reason is that to resolve license-related issues we may need some of your personal details such as the email address and/or we may need to connect to your computer remotely.

Please stay tuned. Once we resolve this, I will also share the solution here so that it could help other users in the future.

Hello,
Please consider the issue solved.
The SOLUTION was: we were short by one license on the machine that was slow to startup 3ds2022.

I've tried a trial license on that machine and everything was working fine afterwards.

Thanks a lot to all!!!
