HI, i just want to know your experiences with the latest updates to corona, we are still on corona 11, i have seen too much problems with the last two updates, bad memory management, slower IR, problems with forest and so on, are you still on the fence to update or it is smooth sailing for production ??

Maybe the developers have some rough numbers of users on each version?? but maybe that's confidential :(

For me, using IR its causing a lot of crashes, even when not using it, once it has been used in the session, 3ds max will become very unstable, and it crashes while editing materials, transforming and editing objects, using undo, etc, besides that, everything its ok in my workflow

No major issues with Corona 12.1 for me, except for very laggy SME, which is bane of Corona since long times.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

Just upgraded.  Interactive is now grinding my machine to a halt, rendering in general seems A LOT slower.  It's just a lot less responsive in general in my opinion.

Ya something is going on with Corona. Every release I have found the rendering to not be getting faster. We have even considered rolling back a few versions. At some point we felt that rendering takes longer and is more grainy needing longer time to clean up. I am sure there is a reason for this. I want to test version 12, but I have not heard good things, and the new frame buffer skin is a turn off.

Rendering on render slaves is atleast 3x worse than the hotfix version, hence made it unusable for us in the studio. But wait theres more :) Decided to downgrade to hotfix 1 just to finish of the project and guess what all of our max scenes that use the new auto adjustment features crash max on load. Thanks for the boatload of work we need to do i guess to fix these issues.

Avoid till everthing is fixed i guess.

Is there a ticket sent in regarding render slaves being slower? That's not one I have heard of, so want to be sure it's reported with all necessary info so we can look into it - https://support.chaos.com/requests/new

I recall seeing in some other thread that Max would crash (when going back) whenever a camera was present in the scene. I'm not sure the info will help but who knows...

Thank you all for the answers !
Currently i have an Artist role, technical director, and IT guy at the office, so i just don't want to deal with production problems ;)

We also update max every two years to a version prior to the latest one to ensure a smooth operation, nowadays its very rare to find a super awesome feature that makes us upgrade right away..
