Hello everyone!

I have a technical question.

Rendering in psd 16bit gives me weird maps and shadows are not smooth. I render the same object to jpg 8bit and the shadows are smooth. I thought 16bit would produce better quality outputs. I need the resulting render in psd because I will be editing in Photoshop. I have no idea what it could be. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks
Greetings Ondra

Did you try to save to some other format? Maybe there's some issue with saving to PSD specifically?

Yes, I just rendered a psd 32bit and that's fine and a tiff 8bit and that's fine too. So there will be an error in the psd.

Is it the same if you render without denoising?

Hey there,

you could also try to convert you psd to a different color profile. At least the one used in the multipass image (linear color profile or something) is kinda weird.

Hi there,
This looks like a color interpretation issue in PS.
Hmm, still it's odd.
I'll try reproducing the issue on my end.
Kind regards
