Hi guys

One thing i noticed when editing instances in ChaosScatter is the viewport previz type switches to box.

I generally work with point cloud. Is it possible to keep the previz mode as point cloud whilst editing instances?

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Denoise in VFB not enabling

Has anyone noticed denoise not turning on in VFB?

Iv enabled denoise in render settings but in VFB its always turned off? With older corona versions denoise in VFB would automatically enable when turning it on in render settings.

You can enable denoise after render or during render time if you rendering locally but its an issue if you sending it to the render farm. Denoise wont kick in unless the box is check in VFB even if denoise is enabled in render settings.

Hi everyone,

Here is my entry for the Kinetic Rush Challenge. Main goal - to hit top 100

Scene Specs,
Full 3D Environment, Animated character provided by the challenge host. landscape setup using displace, Context assets from Kitbash. Main house modeled by myself. Wall Collision setup using Tyflow. Dust/smoke setup using Embergen, Vegetation setup using Speedtree. Props and shaders from megascaps. Lighting using Corona sun and sky.

Render specs,
Rendered with Corona render using 3ds Max
3840 x 1620 @24fps
126 frames
Render time - 12 hours (Threadripper 2990wx)

[Max] I need help! / Volume Grids with Volume effects

Hi All

Im not sure if theres a work around or if this is just a limitation with Volume effects.

Theres a blue halo inside the volume grid box if volume effect in corona sky is enabled. I know iv gone agreesive with the volume effect scale but is there a way to remove the blue halo without reducing the scale? See screenshots, 1st image with volume effect, 2nd image without volume efflect.

I havent tested C11 so this is probably more c10 related,
Fast preview denoise during render and store current vfb history dont work together. Currenty VFB is storing history without denoise.

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Corona AO Issue

Hello,

Im not sure if this is a bug in Corona 5 but the AO map seems to be acting strange compared to Corona 4.

By default, the OA is picking up wireframe edges. Setting the Ray Directionaly to 1 seems to fix this but then the max distance seems incorrect in relation to the object scale. I hope this makes sense.

Hi all

To explain this quickly, what I need is a script that isolates an object, at the same time, the HDRI needs to switch to a different HDRI and the VFB tone settings need to reset. These settings need to revert back when turning isolate off.
Let me know if I'm not making myself clear

The general idea is to isolate an object and run interactive using an HDRI that's good for testing materials. What I would usually do is switch my 3ds max settings to single map in corona scene environment settings. The issue with this is you will need to change your VFB tone settings to compensate each HDRI. Therefore you need to save and load Postprocess .conf files when switching your HDRI which is time-consuming!

Any thoughts?
