Hello,

The Intel CPU/GPU AI denoising is not working in M1 with Corona 11, is it only me or is someone having the same issue?

macOs 14; Corona 11; M1; C4D 2023.2.2

Thank you

Hi!

Does nobody have this issue? Maybe I was doing something wrong in the installation of Corona V11?
Some help will be appreciated...

Thank you

So ODIN is on Apple Silicon, just not Intel Mac?

Hi,

Thank you Bengamin, I will send a support ticket.

smckenzie, I was also wondering if that will be the problem, but the previous versions and daily builds were working fine with the Intel denoising in my Mac.

At this point, the OIDN denoiser in Corona only works on Windows OS and its GPU version only works on NVIDIA GPUs. Sorry for these limitations.

Is this a Corona limitation as ODIN works just fine in Arnold, VRay and Redshift on my Mac.

Yes, those are the limitations in our current implementation. I just made my previous message more specific.

You can still use the Corona HQ Denoiser, but only for final renders of course (not for IR).

But why does it change? I used corona since 2 years on mac and till version 10 was all fine. But since Version 11 it doesn’t work anymore.

The only change in Corona 11 was the addition of the Intel AI denoiser in interactive rendering.
02.01.2024 Update: another change was that in production rendering it can use either the CPU or the GPU.

The other denoisers (Corona HQ and NVIDIA AI) should be working for you exactly the same as in Corona 10.
Can you explain which exact denoiser you used in Corona 10 and how and what exactly isn't working for you now?

Good morning everyone,
the same thing happens to me with Corona 11 on imac pro intel. Odin denoiser doesn't work, at the end of the render the bar with the denoiser percentage does not appear.
I swirched to Corona 10. Odin works fine
Thanks

But why does it change? I used corona since 2 years on mac and till version 10 was all fine. But since Version 11 it doesn’t work anymore.

The OIDN denoiser was updated, so a new version is being used compared to the previous version. This new version includes, as an example, the ability to use GPU (but there are some other changes to it too that improve it on CPU). So, it is not the same Intel OIDN denoiser as used in 10.

We've updated to this new version in Corona 11, but as Marcin notes, currently this only works on Windows in our current implementation. Which means Corona 11 on macOS can't use the updated OIDN denoiser at the moment, until we update our implementation.
