[Max] I need help! / Flashing Backgrounds on render elements

Hi all,
I'm having an issue with the extra texture render elements.
Every few frames the colour of the background will turn to bright green/blue/pink.
See attached, the BG should be black.
I've overridden the BG colour and have double checked for any keyframes on the environmental maps but nothing seems to work.
Has anyone else had this problem and or knows a solution
