Title: Tissot watch
Post by: boudini on 2014-04-08, 23:36:30
Hi, here's my first corona render (nearly everyone seems to say that) - but frankly corona seems to be so easy and good that you can make any old model look good.

In this case, this is literally an old watch I modelled for my portfolio years ago (8years actually) but never got round to rendering. After finding corona and this old model at about the same time I gave them a whirl together. This is my first product shot work as I mainly work in toony kids stuff, but I thought I'd like to prove I could do this stuff if the job ever arose. I'm actually not feeling this as complete though, I've got to the stage where I'd like to split this into 2 renders - one super high gloss billboard style advert, and one much more realistic with micro scratches, finger prints and dirt. Its all playtime for me anyway as I don't do this in my dayjob.

Anyway, let me know what you think - all crits most welcome!
Cheers, Sean.

Hey, thanks for the comment.

Its lit simply with a point light for highlights, and a very basic free HDRI for ambient light and reflections.
