I have a problem with the ShadowCatcher. I get neither shadows nor caustics. When I give the plane a normal material, I see both. What am I doing wrong here? The main image is on a backplate and the light comes from an HDRI and a lamp from the left.

Hi, It's a bit hard to know what's happening without seeing the scene file. If that can be sent to us via our private uploader, that would be great. When saving from C4D, please use the ''save project with assets'' option to ensure everything remains linked. That can then be zipped and sent to us. https://corona-renderer.com/upload

I did a quick test here and it seems to be working for me.

Hi @peka

Almost everything was ok in your scene file, here are my suggestions:
-Use the Corona Sky object instead of the C4D sky + Light Material (I know you're using HDRI Link, but it can be used with the Corona Sky as well)
-You don't have to change the Material Mapping mode for the ShadowCatcher material tag. Right now you have set it to use the Camera Mapping mode and other adjustments. Default values should work.
-The Backplate material (a Corona Light material) should never have the "Emit light" option turned on.
I'm attaching the rendered image after modifying the file.
Regards.

Thank you, Benjamin, for your efforts!
I have set everything as you described. But unfortunately I still don't get the effect you show in the rendered image. Could you please provide me with the modified c4d file so that I can check all the settings? I already have the textures.

Kind regards
Peter
