[C4D] Bug Reporting / Physical material wrong UI behavior
« on: 2021-01-08, 00:18:51 »
When setting the Metalness mode to metal and after that assigning a bitmap to that slot, SSS and Refraction are still greyed out. That is not correct.

In the file attached,  the HairMtl's Clump-Parameter is driven by a Vertex-map.
In AR/PR, hairs render fine.
Corona ignores the vertex map.

So, this has been here since the early days of the Corona MP manager.

The manager still misses many implementations for the treeview it is made of, like Ctrl+copying, rearranging multiple items, etc.
Also, multiple treeview nodes cannot be edited at once, like enumerating them via the built-in expressions like "1+num" etc.

I'd really like to see this fixed, it is stilly very annoying for everyday work. ;)

Cheers,
Robert

Please see item #2957 on Mantis.
Seems like Mantis isn't used anymore?

See here:
The area of IES lights become invisible to reflections. I'd assume, they stay visible.
Thje first image shows the scene setup. It's a plane with 100% reflective glossy material.

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Multipass switch inconsitent
« on: 2018-09-19, 16:15:26 »
Hello there,

When enabling MP in Corona MP manager and then disabling it will cause the MP render to be inconsistent and rendered with color profile and color management is applied.
This is problematic as Cinema uses this information to save renders.

Steps to repro (assuming C4d defaults):
1.) Create new scene
2.) Add cube
2.) Add sky
3.) Set Corona as renderer
3.) Render to PV
--
4.) Open Corona MP manager
5.) Switch on MP (in C4D's "Save" section in render settings, MP save options become available)
6.) Switch off MP (note that the above mentioned MP save options are still enabled)
7.) Render again
8.) Go into PV and disable "Show color profile"
9.) Compare renderings.

I assumed that, when MP is disabled, the rendering is again treatened as linear or not color managed at all. (Like it is the case with standard C4D settings, they are synched)

Post effects seems to be out of sync, when rendering in VP and PV, when camera without tag is present.

Steps to reproduce:
1.) Create camera, set it active
2.) Create Corona sky
3.) Set Corona as renderer, go into Camera/PostPro settings, set exposure to -3
4.) Render in editor view
5.) Render in PV.

Compare the differences.
In PV, default post settings are used. However, if adding a CoronaCam-tag, it automatically inherits render settings. So it then renders correctly to PV again.

When having open more than one perspective viewport, one is generally able to switch to the view that is used as render view via viewport setting.

However, this setting has to be disregarded when rendering in editor. This is C4Ds standard behavior and also used by other render engines.

Hi,

is there RGB displacement already available?
If so, how's the workflow?

Corona Tools 1.0

Released for Alpha A3.

Support thread for CoronaTools.

Find the tools here: http://www.roberthitzer.de/projects/coronatools/
Due to the updated road map, this project will not be continued.

The tool will be updated for R20+ the next couple of months.

[C4D] General Discussion / Cinema4D - Bucket Seams
« on: 2014-09-06, 16:17:26 »
Something very annoying happened to me while preparing a converted scene.

As you can see, there are visible seams along the bucket edges.
I'm currently working on breaking down the cause and will upload the scene then.

edit #1:

I was able to break the problem down to the use of Vertexmaps in combination with a Colorizer-Shader.

edit #2:

The bug is definitely caused by the layer-shader in combination with vertexmap. Vertexmaps only work fine. :)

edit #3:

After testing around for a while, I have to conclude, that all "pass-through" shaders like Layer, Fusion, etc. are not evaluated correctly.

[C4D] General Discussion / Cinema 4D - No linear workflow
« on: 2014-09-06, 05:41:47 »
As the subject states. No matter if "Linear Workflow" is checked or not, scenes are never rendered in LWF.
It also doesn't matter if the output is set to 32Bit (which always should render into linear color space).
However, C4D's internal color profile handling allows linear conversion - at least for the materials. Lights etc. are not taken into account - no LWF.

I know, CoronaC4D has just been born and many things are missing yet (btw, I'm also using the 3ds Max version) so I'm not sure whether to consider this as bug or simply as "not yet implemented". :)
