Hi,

I want to assign some of the Corona toolbar actions to my "Radially" menu but I cant find them in the Custom UI. How can I assign the Corona actions to a quad or Radial menu?

I have the un- official Corona Toolbar and it has the custom Actions, that works but It would be nice to use the new one with the nice new icons :)

Thanks,

Hi, No problem. Not sure what changed? It isn't happening anymore but if it does I will make a video for sure.

Thanks!

Next I tried just loading the render with Resume render from file and then stopping it. Then drawing out my region. I turned off clear VFB inbetween renders and tried to render the offending region, but while calculating the GI it alters the area outside the region?? If I draw a region and press render why would anything outside the region change?? Am I doing something wrong or is this how it works?

This doesn't always happen but what I found was sometimes the render outside the region would be altered. It doesn't happen if I Erase the buffer first and then resume from file.

Still just trying to learn Corona, its a little different then I am use to, but really liking it!

Thanks for your help!

First is there a way to just load the image without having to wait for it to transform vertices, parse the scene etc? by loading from Resume from file?

In Vray I could load a render from a previous session and render regions to make adjustments without the need to redo the whole image. I am confused as to how I would do this in Corona. I thought I figured it out by loading the .cxr in from Resume from file. If I draw a render region around the area I want to fix it starts to fix it but still ghosts the old image even after waiting a really long time.

Next I tried just loading the render with Resume render from file and then stopping it. Then drawing out my region. I turned off clear VFB inbetween renders and tried to render the offending region, but while calculating the GI it alters the area outside the region?? If so maybe I should post in "The most wanted feature from Vray" It would be nice to expand on Corona's history tab and have the ability to auto save renders to the history, as well as have it save to your project path. Then you can just reload them by double clicking.

Cryptomatte would be really a great addition. Multi layer .exrs

Ya thats the risk of being an early adopter, but man its fast. Now that its working well worth it. With the boost it was pushing the peak clock speed to 3.7 from the factory 3.4, I would like to see if overclocking to 3.7 will produce the same result. anyway its running really well right now so I am not going to mess with it.

Thanks,

The only save I can do from the VFB is with the save CXR. If I want to just save a quick jpeg just by clicking on the save button once, nothing happens. It is the same with 1.6 HF1, HF2. It use to work??

Found this post:

I am pretty sure that my problem is caused by the "core performance boost" in the BIOS. I disabled that and all seems to be working as expected.

Not the best solution but maybe they will fix in the next update. Hope it helps anyone else that runs into this.

No its not overclocked still at factory. All my drivers are up to date. The temperture is around 57 deg, I have yet to see it go above 60.

Just to test I tried Vray with the denoiser and have no issue, but as soon as I use corona with the Denoiser mode set to full, it crashes. I would much rather use Corona :)

Maybe the motherboard manufacturer needs to roll out an update to their drivers??

If I turn on full denoise mode as soon as my render finishes it immediately crashes my system. Not just corona but my screen goes black. The computer stays on but its totally unresponsive and the only way to fix it is to hold the reset and reboot from the motherboard. I thought it was a hardware thing but I have narrowed it down to the denoiser.  I have tried on a few different scenes and get the same result if its a simple or complex scene.

I have also tried 1.6 HF1 and HF 2, also the daily build for 1.7 and still crashing. Bios and drivers are all up to date. Not sure what else to try?

I have just upgraded to a Ryzen 1950X Threadripper, with a msi X399 carbon Motherboard. Has this happened to anyone else? Really would be nice to be able to use the denoiser.

Oh Okay Thanks! So you have to set the source objects to the appropriate object ID. Alright thats easy enough.

Is there something I am missing? I cannot get a mask with my forest pack objects. It is working fine with standard geometry. I am using object IDs. I have also tried the manual selection. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
David

[Max] General Discussion / Re: Network render submision

Thanks guys. I have DR working no problem. I misunderstood this to be a network submitter and manager for single frames distributed to different nodes. I think I would only be able to do that with Deadline or Backburner. Right?

We have done tests with animations thinking DR would be faster but with 6 nodes it was taking about 20 min to get the quality we needed per frame, so 3 frames per hour. Where if we submitting single frames to 6 nodes we get back about 6 frames per hour. These are tests we did with vray but I am finding the speed to get an acceptable quality is around the same (1hr/frame roughly) but we will certainly do some more tests.

Hi,

I just read this in the FAQ section and was wondering what it is:

DOES IT SUPPORT NETWORK/DISTRIBUTED RENDERING?
Yes, it does. You can do network rendering using Autodesk Backburner, Thinkbox Deadline, or Corona's own integrated solution (requires installed Backburner).

What is Corona's integrated solution?

Thanks,
David
