Ok, no problem, I can do this but I'll answer on Friday morning as I am out of office tomorrow.

I think that using DR for now doesn't give a boost to the overall process. After 7 hours the image is a bit grainy and in my opinion only the master does the job at the end.
Last week I opened the DR folder and I got the DR files from the slave, I was surprised to see only a stripe (portion of image) and not the full image itself. I guess is not a correct behavior...

Thanks Ondra but the Slave which does the manager, doesn't have any DR tab when Backburner is used for the render.

Thanks for the answer, so now, when DR render is using Backburner, we can't see the slaves which exact pass are working on? If yes, we can live with it! :D

Yes, after 15 years was a very sad story for me guys but personally I think in Italy doing business now is a mess! I couldn't deal with it anymore, I was tired... I felt was time to change and I did the right thing!!!

Unfortunately I can't post any image here as I don't have any permission yet but I have my final conclusions:

Resolution 8.192x8.192

The antialiasing flickering I had yesterday was due to a sharpening filter applied by error on the image. Surprisingly, during the GEAR VR session those pixels seem to flicker a lot!
This morning I used the same image without sharpen and is perfect.

Thanks to moderator on moving the topic here... (I was a bit embarrassed actually)!!! :)

Thanks Juraj for your message and your wishes which I feel very honest and friendly. Is so good to know and see every time that people around me, which I never met in my life, admire my work and knowledge and they use them as reference to get better and better each day... Well, this thing didn't stopped happening actually, I'll start to post my works here too once I can and I have the permission from the studio. We're all artists and we learn every day more and more and I can assure you that success is not at all easy to create and maintain. But this is the reason why life is so beautiful! Is a continuous daily challenge! :)

Hi guys! I am very happy you talked about the Delta Tracing issue! And yes, it's me!!! :)

In a few words this is what happened, since 2012 the financial crisis in Italy became too heavy and I started loosing big amount of money cause many furniture industries started closing down one after the other. Now that we talk, quality is not the number one priority for the companies but the price. Who has the lowest price, gets the job and I already know other guys and realities that they're selling themselves too low for what they're really producing. Having a company (Delta Tracing) which after 15 years of activity, made a name and a standard in the market, a company that costs me every month thousands of euros to maintain and on the other hand, see the incomes lowering down, quality not being paid anymore, clients became aggressive, not respectful and arrogant.... Well, I just got tired of it! So I decided to change radically my life....

Then I abandoned iRay since last September but we'll talk about it in the future and with calm. Now I decided to concentrate all my energies and know how on Corona which is a fantastic engine and it has a wonderful and powerful team at it's back.

Thanks to all of you for your comments....

Hmmm, I made an error with my last rendered VR image and was setup to 8.000x8.000 instead of 8.192x8192. Probably the antialiasing issues are due to the wrong res. As far as I know the OCULUS system suggest to use images which are multiplied of 512 x 2: 512,1024,2048,4096,8.192,ecc.

I'll try again and let you know.

Yes, I guess going to bigger resolution doesn't help.

The only issue is this now: I use the Gear VR for a couple of days and I am veeeeeeeerrrrry excited!!! I noticed that the OTOY's sample images have no antialiasing problem at all. Very clean and smooth. My images rendered at 8.192 are smooth too but they suffer a bit of antialiasing issues. OTOY use a CUBIC map process instead of SPHERICAL and for this reason they have to render with a max res of 12.000px but I still can't find out why there is no antialiasing at all... Will keep testing and let you know.
