Congratulations!
-
Great many thanks!!
-
That's impressive list of additions !
Also, thanks and gratulations are given but I wanted to also say it's great that you bundled DeadClowns' script, this is the feature that got me to try Corona first without having newborn pains that often comes from switching renderer.
-
"This version might not be as glitzy as A6"
Mmm... are you sure Ondra? For me it's a GREAT release! O_O
-
Good news! Ondra, you and your team are amazing as usual!

Good job guys!!!
And keep it all coming..!!!
-
WOW!So quickly!Thank you very very mach!
-
The results of the “The most wanted feature” poll clearly shows what you crave the most: Multi-Layer Material, SSS, Adaptivity and Interactive rendering. So we will do our best to make that happen by the next release.
Why are my hands so shaky?
-
List of changes looks very useful for the engine. Thanks.. Good job..
-
Good. Thanks!
-
Excellent work.
Ondra, thanks for Corona.

Read about the time limited Alpha V7 end of 2014.
No word on pricing. When can I learn about the price of the product?

If you now start Drafts in it, if not then have to move on to another render of unaffordable prices for ...
Thank you.

Thank you! the viewport lighting is a huge time saver, great update!

Hi
Well done and thank you for finally allowing us to be able to use this with MAX 2015
I have been desperate to get testing your renderer, this is exciting.
-
I'm unable to download A7. I get "Failed - Download Error". :(

Try a different web browser. Or maybe just try again, it is possible that the server was overloaded.
-
PS
Render Legion team good luck and hope they will attract sufficient funds for development. Well done guys and render great!
-
Thank You Very Much for Releasing this Wonderful Piece Technology. :-)
-
Absolutely great to have this upon returning from vacation! Still working on a massive material library that I will share with the forum in a WIP thread once I find it suitable, so I'm amped to pump it out faster with a7. Great job as always guys.
-
Congratulations! And thanx a lot Ondra and team!
-
Congrats Ondra and team!!!
I agree that I would like to know pricing and licensing conditions as how many render nodes (backburner I mean) will come with the license, to prepare the pocket you know, we need some time to gather funds and plan them, and I don't want to stop working with Corona in 1 January 2015 because I don't have the money :P (although I'm pretty sure that you won't let that to happend :) )
Cheers and congrats again!!!!
-
Simply Cool.
Thanks for the whole team.
Cheers
-
Spasibo!!! Thank you!!!
-
Congratulations. I have been using Corona for just 2 weeks and I loved and I am starting using it in a professional environment.
-
My pc has no internet connection currently but I already know I will love the release and get it activated asap! Keen! Great job! And can't wait to use it. I pray the payment methods for the commercial will be friendly to some us in the African continent.
-
Thank You so much:) Congrats :)
-
Fckin AWESOME , thanks Keymaster :)
When can we expect the "exact" prices for licencing ?

I don't know. I postpone it quite a lot, I just prefer implementing features to thinking about prices ;)
-
Happy dayyyy!!!
Thanks.

Is it render in Corona?
-
Let me also congratulate the corona team for this great new build and thank them for their great efforts in making this renderer even better than what it already is. Seen the new fixes and tweaks I would say the future looks very bright for corona #excited #corona rules
-
Good job and congratulation for this amazing release.
Thanks a lot! :)

Is it render in Corona?
It's clearly been done in an engine that doesn't have a white balance setting.
-
^^^^LOL

Good job CORONA team :)

I get this at work; our corporate firewall blocks it for some reason. I had to download it on my phone and Dropbox it to my office computer.
-
Try directly https://corona-renderer.com
It is possible some stupid firewall is blocking the 8080 port
-
very good!!!
-
very good

Thank You!!!

very good, will it be supported XP64 in future?
-
very good, will it be supported XP64 in future?
no, even microsoft is not supporting xp anymore
-
very good, will it be supported XP64 in future?
no, sorry.
Adding the support would cost more than the 10 remaining users upgrading to Win 7 :D
-
very good!!!Thx!!

Looks like opacity is not working on self-illuminated mats, like CoronaLightMtl or CoronaMtl with self-illumination, can anybody check it and confirm?

You should use CoronaNormalTex instead of 3ds max's Normal Bump map.

I can confirm that I was able to download the file from home. At work we connect to the internet through a large TELCO company. Usually I have no issue accessing https (secure) protocols - I even host some services on port 8080 on various servers myself...
But thanks - I was able to download it at home and then downloaded from my remote connection to work - I am going to setup some tests scenes with this - can't wait to play with the newest version of this renderer. I was impressed by previous releases.
My favorite renderer to work with is Maxwell because of the ease of setting up a scene, lighting, etc. and get great results - but at a huge render cost which makes it unusable for many situations.
Vray renders faster than Maxwell with good results with a lot of effort - it takes a significant amount of time to set new unique rendering settings/environments up
I found Corona leaning towards the Maxwell simplicity and results with Vray comparable speeds
My ideal would be an unbiased renderer quality like Maxwell (obviously saving time by not requiring the amount of tweaking necessary for renderers that takes all various shortcuts to speed the rendering up) but with the speed we are starting to see with gpu-renderers...
From a cpu-based renderer Corona is really impressive - I would actually like to put it on an Amazon EC2 instance and through a ridiculous amount of cpu's at it and see what it does...
-
Corona seems like an amazing render engine. Can't wait to start testing! Thank you for all of your hard work putting this together!!!
-
Thank you so much for this update !
I'm facing a maxscipt error at startup with the A7, don't know if this is related to a non english 3ds max / system :
-- Erreur dans bloc du code anonyme; nom de fichier: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2014\scripts\startup\CoronaProxyExporterStartup.ms; position: 3036; ligne: 109

>> MAXScript Erreur du script de chargement automatique - C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2014\scripts\startup\CoronaProxyExporterStartup.ms Exception:
-- Propriété inconnue: "getMenu" dans undefined <<
Anyone else encounter this ? is there a way to fix it ?
(launching 3ds max in english work ok, it happens only on other languages)
-
Thank you from Canada! Great release, my studio uses it in all our project! Very good job, like always, keep it up, you guys are the best :)
-
Hi guys. Great work with the new release. I love the new features and i'll be happy to see and buy the official release.
I have a question that maybe it's not exactly for this topic but i think here more people can see it and help.
I'm currently on the way for buying better workstation and i was wondering what will be the best CPU choice for work with corona - single i7 ot dual Xeon.
According to the price and delivery options here in Bulgaria my choices are between:
1. I7-4930k.
2. 2 x Xeon E5-2620 V2
According to the benchmarks this dual configuration beat with a little the i7. But i was wondering is it worth it to go with 2.1Ghz processor for the main computer job - if i understand correctly outside the rendering the system will use only single xeon, or something like that and will use all cores for rendering - Is that correct thoughts from my side?
And the oldest question for me : is it better to hace double cores on a low frequency or less cores on a high frequency?
What do you think is it enough 2.1Ghz for normal work with 3ds max, revit, archicad, photoshop, sketchup.... or will need more Ghz for that?
Sorry if that is too much out of the topic but i was going crazy those days in the searching of the right way :) Too much info in the net but too much mess too.
I'll appreciate if somebody with observation and experience and knowledges on my dilema can help.
Thank you.
-
for corona: multiply number of cores with frequency.
for everything else in 3dsmax: only frequency matters
I would go for the i7. 2.1 GHz is really low freqency, and will limit you with stuff like particle flow, scene parsing (which has to be single-threaded even in corona due to 3ds max limitations), etc.
-
Keymaster, I think you meant "I wouldn't" hehe
I would go for the i7, the Xeons are much more expensive and in the long run I face that the i7 are better investment, for the price of one xeon computer you can have two good i7 computers at much higher frequency.
IMHO i7 6 core is the best bet.
Cheers!
-
I mean "I would". Those are 2 separate sentences ;)
-
thanks very much!
-
OK!
I didn't saw the full stop hehe
Cheers!

This looks interesting, I am a C4D R13 user, was wondering if this is available for C4D?

Tell please, on what email to write to receive key? (Searched at a forum, but there there is no address where to write)
Daily builds which uploads to 7/26/2014 work, but the following builds demands again key.
(Was absent some time, now I was lost at a forum :))
Thanks!

can't find the link.. hiks..
is alpha v7 supposed to replace alpha v6 ?
-
Alpha 6 is a free version of Corona.
Alpha 7 was a pre-1.0 version with some improvements. It is not available any more. You can either download the demo version, or purchase full version.
-
aawh ic now why.. thanks for the info! perhaps i should better buy a license..
