Anyone else having trouble rendering images on Rebus when using Sigertools?
Since the 1.2 change all my scenes involving siger shaders are impossible to render on their farm...

Strange tings I tell you.

Some of those new Siger shaders use their own custom shader plugins. See here:

http://www.sigerstudio.eu/product-category/plugins-free/

So if Rebus or other farms don't have these updated plugins then your renders will fail.

Something I wondered too. Just write them to install the latest versions.

This is always hassle with render farm, but only minor as long as they're willing.

I don't speak for Rebus but yes, they seem to have the latest Siger shaders installed (complexfresnel and thinfilm etc.), and they definitely have 1.3. So you should be fine. You should ask them directly on their website though.

Thanks Alex,

They reply like this:

hi there,

"that is not supported on the farm.
we would have to contact sigerstudio if there is a free render node license or similar.
then we would have to check if it techincally is implementable.

actually there aren't many requests for this (first request to be honest). "

I don't think that i am the only one that has Siger Corona Materials preset and want to use with Rebusfarm .

Somebody has experience on that ?
Thanks

That makes no sense. We just rendered an animation with them which uses those 2 Siger shaders which are needed for the Siger Corona presets, and it rendered perfectly...

Is it possible that the plugins just did not work and you didn't notice it? The effect is usually pretty subtle.

Or you can just simply submit low res image for a few passes render and see if there's a compatibility problems.

I'm 100% sure the free Siger plugins were used for the render we did with them. Those gold vases look very different without the fresnel plugin and would also give a warning on their farm/plugin if it's not detected.

They are free plugins anyway, so I don't see why they couldn't include them on their farm.

For what it's worth RenderNation also definitely have these plugins installed and 1.3 as well. We used them for one shot as well.

Thanks guys,

For sure the best way is to do a test in low res.  I will try this evening and post it.

My question was to know if somebody has already experience.

I saw that today  there is a 50%discount on Rebusfarm. I want to buy 150 coins and they give you 300 ;-)  ... but  i hope i will have no problems with materials.

Hey guys,

I tried with a small test and it works fine.
Perfect also with Sigertools.

I have another questions.
I have to make the image in higher resolution 6500x3660  1 interior and 1 exterior.

With your experience.... How many passes you suggest me to render ? 150 - 200 ?

I am gonna use Rebusfarm .

Thanks

I've did 4000x3000 render on Rebus recently with pass limit of 120 and it cost ~13 credits. The image was clean enough. Simply render out a smaller region in original resolution where the noise was most visible on test renders on your machine and check how many passes it needs. It's very scene depending there are scenes that looks noisy after 150 passes and there are scenes, that are clean after 40-50.

Managed with  130 and 150 passes and it was fine.
Thanks for the suggestions.
