I followed the I instructions but there is no database to copy in the menu, the files to be deleted do not exist, cbservice quit does not help. I have the latest Cosmos and reinstalling does not help either.

I have a fully updated Macbook with the versions mentioned above. My Mac Studio has not been updated yet and I got Cosmos still going there. Would love a one click solution to download all Chaos assets into the C4D database. Cosmos is the wrong direction for Chaos assets for C4D.

I accidentally updated Cosmos on my main system and now Cosmos also crashed here. I hope I can fix it returning to the previous Cosmos. Don't know yet where to find a previous Cosmos installer. I have a deadline tomorrow. What a mess.

Mac Studio
OS 14.6.1
C4D 24.5.1
CR 12 hot fix 1 but with an updated Cosmos 25 9

Well, I found an installer on my system for CR12 hf 1 and Cosmos is working again. So there is definatly something wrong with hot fix 2.
I really need to take a day off and try to download relevant assets from Cosmos so that I never have to install Cosmos again.

Hi, I have replied in your support ticket. Additionally, I am pasting my message below:

Quote
Please try the following steps:
- Uninstall Chaos Cosmos by going to: /Applications/ChaosGroup/ChaosCosmos/uninstall/uninstaller
- Make sure that the following folders no longer exist once you uninstall Chaos Cosmos:
~/Library/ChaosGroup/ChaosCosmos
/Library/ApplicationSupport/Chaos/ChaosCosmos
/Applications/ChaosGroup/ChaosCosmos
/Users/YourUsername/ChaosCosmos
- Reinstall the Cosmos Browser from the following link: https://download.chaosgroup.com/?platform=47&product=62

If the issue persists, please provide us with any new error messages or screenshots of the issue. This will help us better understand the problem and provide a more accurate solution.

If you continue to have some issues with Cosmos, please reply in the support ticket. In such case we will need to transfer this case to another team.

Thanks Maru, for your quick reply. Appreciate it.
I had done all you mentioned before I went back to 12hot fix 1. Will try your instructions again later this week.

I have copied most relevant assets in to the C4D asset browser so I am ok for now. It is rather a lot of work though to do so but it's a lot more robust.

Cosmos back on !
I completely reinstalled my MacBook m1, new system all erased.
I got C4D 2025.02, CR 13 aug.28 2024 and OSX 15.0.1 running now, all new installed.

Whole process took me about 3 hours. But Cosmos works now again and everything seems fine.
C4D 2025 starts up now with a standard scene file logo with Redshift settings, camera and so on. Never knew before you could set a standard scene file. So I made my own with Coronarender settings. Such a relief  I don't need to set all to Corona each time start something new.

I have no idea why my system corrupted Cosmos especially.  I played a little with Redshift but it was extremely slow compared to Corona on my MacBook. Corona IR is a lot more responsive than Redshift on CPU.

Chaos Cosmos back off. I had all working as described above but just clicked update in Cosmos and got an error window stating the service is not running.

Downloaded CR 12 hf2 and got it back on.
I am done with the daily builds. Cosmos is taking all the fun out of testing/working with these daily builds.

Tried it again today. After updating clicking update in the Cosmos window, Cosmos went to a window stating the service is not running.
Deleting everything Cosmos and reinstalling Cosmos did not work either. A complete uninstall of Corona render and a complete install of CR12 hf2 as downloaded from the site and Cosmos came back again.

Mac OS 15.0.1 (24A348)
C4D 25.0.2
CR12 hf2 works. CR12hf2 and update Cosmos at oct. 14 2024 leaves Cosmos not running the service.

Hello, I am sorry that you are experiencing some issues with Cosmos. It is intended to work "out of the box" but, as with any software, various bugs may appear.
We probably won't be able to help you on the forum. Please submit a new support ticket at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and our technical support team will assist you ASAP.
Once they provide you with a solution, it would be great to share it here in the forum in case other users experience similar issues.

Thanks.
I have this issue with the updates Cosmos wants me to install. If I just stick to CR12 with hf2 all is fine.
I will no longer update Cosmos hoping that stuff gets fixed before an official release of CR13.

When that happens and I experience bugs again I will surely submit a support ticket.
I can only hope Chaos will provide a more robust and professional service through C4D's asset browser sooner than later.

The attachments show the OSX installs that currently work on my MacBook m1 and Mac Studio m1 incl. Cosmos.
Any Cosmos update after CR12 hf 2 breaks loading Cosmos.

So it can not be the latest OSX 15 or C4D 2025. It must be CR, the daily build 13 or an updated Cosmos after hot fix 2 that is the problem. I won't update CR and Cosmos anymore unless there is a statement on a solution.

At least I can work with official release of Coronarender & the latest C4D 2025 and OSX15 which is a step forward.

Just did an update as Cosmos popup window suggested. Cosmos after that did not run anymore. An hour wasted again to get it sorted out. I uninstalled Cosmos and downloaded the official release 12 hf2 again and Cosmos runs again.

TO CHAOS : PROVIDE THE CHAOS ASSETS FOR THE C4D ASSET BROWSER !!!!!!!

Tx Masterzone,
that solved it. I got OSX 15.0.1, C4D 25.0.2 and the CR 13 latest daily build and Cosmos running.

Cosmos was already installed with the official release 12 and did not need to be installed again when installing 13.
I installed CR13 without Cosmos and updated Cosmos from within C4D/Cosmos, then after and while Cosmos bricked updating ran the installer manually from the desktop.
