I have several scenes in the backburner with xref files so i don't have to submit a scene each time something changes. I just installed Corona 8 and when restarting a scene that was submitted in Corona 7 the tone mapping is reset to default resulting in a totally wrong output. Is there way to fix this?

EDIT: This also is the case when i open a scene made in Corona 7, this is actually very annoying and should not be happening, by the looks of it there is no backwards compatibility?

Basic rule: do not switch software version during production on a project ... IMHO you should only start new projects with a new software, not hoping everything will be untouched when updating ;)

Hi, I believe this is a bug we are actively investigating, can you please clarify if Camera override tone mapping is enabled?

Tone mapping override is not enabled. What i am seeing at the moment is that not all the projects suffer from this bug. Untill now i can see that the scenes that have been reset all contain xref's.

EDIT: I have been opening lot's of projects and none of the scenes that don't contain xref's has a problem with the tone mapping being reset. All the scenes that contain xref's do have the tone mapping reset.

We have the same problem without xref. Lut is missing. Rest of the tonemapping ist default. Additional: if we save a postprocessing file in the image viewer and will open it in an other image, nothing happend in the tone mapping. very bad.

Hi Erik, I am afraid I cannot reproduce this with xref scenes, can you kindly please provide me with an archive of one of your scenes, feel free to only send me the scene empty but with just the camera inside (not resaved with v8).

Hi, can you please try the following for me:

1)When opening the scene in V8, is Camera override for tone mapping enabled?

2)Can you please delete the Corona folder (or backup, remove it from the root folder temporarily) from your ENU location: C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\20** - 64bit\ENU\en-US\plugcfg\corona, do not resave the original scene in V8 and only open the old/original one with Corona v8.
Then select the camera go to its modify panel see if the overrides are enabled for tone mapping, and then please check if tone mapping parameters are still wrong in the VFB.

3) I am afraid loading saved configurations even through CIE seems to be working as expected, is your Corona Image Editor properly updated to version 8?

Camera override for tone mapping is not enabled, should it? Corona Image Editor is updated to version 8.

Rest of the tests are not possible at the moment. Sorry.

Thank you, reproduced, as suspected removing the following Corona folder from your 3dsMax ENU should resolve the issue, can you please verify?

Steps:
Please delete ONLY the Corona folder (or backup, remove it from the root folder temporarily) from your ENU location: C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\20** - 64bit\ENU\en-US\plugcfg\corona (Be sure to restart 3dsMax), do not resave the original scene in V8 and only open the old/original one with Corona v8.

Then select the camera go to its modify panel see if the overrides are enabled for tone mapping, and then please check if tone mapping parameters are still wrong in the VFB.

Can you please send me a screenshot of your C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\20** - 64bit\ENU\en-US\plugcfg\corona, or if possible archive it and send it to me. Regarding 3dsMax version there is a possibility there is a bug there as well but please let's rule out first the ENU one because locally it does resolve the issue for us.
