That's very good to hear ! ;)

Hello everyone,

I'm very happy with the recent support of the multi instances.
As a Mographer, I was very frustrated with Corona, which is incredible for archviz and product design, but mediocre for motion design despite its excellent features.
Now that the multi instances work, could you support particle and spline rendering ?
I'm talking about simple stuff : the ability to render strands from spline without any special material, like Arnold, Redshift and Octane do already. The ability to render simple sphere or even objects from particles, like again Arnold, RS and Octane do.
In their case, it's through a simple tag which recognizes if it's a spline or a particle and act accordingly.

I really find Corona amazing, and I'm almost certain you would attract a LOT of new customers if you had a proper support of those features :)

[C4D] General Discussion / Multi Instances is working !
« on: 2020-10-30, 09:18:57 »
Hi all,

I've just downloaded the latest build for Corona7, and immediatly tested it with my favorite scene working with multi-instances.
It's a setup with a cloner with 2640 instances, using a OpenVDB model with 1.3M polygons. That makes a whooping number of 3.432 billions of polygons.
Corona crunches it like it was no trouble. And all the mograph setup works also (animation, color, randomization and so on)

Great job team !

Those are all good ideas.
I'm missing the solo button the most :)

+1000 !
In Arnold and Redshift for C4D, it is a standard feature. It makes precise texturing very easy.
I was disappointed to find this is lacking in Corona. Even the new R20 node material editor has it now !
I use the same trick as Nkilar, but as the viewport preview is often not accurate, I use instead the emission channel to preview. Not very practical...
In R20's node editor, the little "s" button previews the node on the material

In RS  you use alt+w to connect any node to "output"
